Well I finally did it, I broke down and got my 700 sent to me. I had it flown about 2500 miles from Iqaluit Nunavut to Kugluktuk Nunavut. I am sure glad I work for an airline company part time, or it would have cost me an arm and a leg. Well here are the specs of my build.
I am taking this

Me
A 2006 550 Trail RMK, and dropping this into it

700VES Twin
A 2003 700 VES twin. I have ordered a bunch of parts this this and I hope they arrive soon because I have already started tearing her apart and I am getting antsy. Well here is a list of what I have ordered.
- SLP Y Pipe, Single Pipe, Silencer
- SLP Air Box Velocity Stack
- SLP Flow Rites (2.5")
- V-Force 3 Reeds
- Clutch Rebuild kit (Buttons, Bushings etc.)
- Clutch Springs, Helix's, Weights
- Jet Board with about 12 different sets.
- PowerMadd 4" Riser block for my pivot adapter
- VES Bellows
- VES Bellow Springs
I have had a couple of donations, a buddy of mine has given me his air box and cooling system off of his old 2003 XC 700, I am also taking the wishbones off of his sled, sandblasting them then installing them on my sled.

The Doner
I have started to tear down my sled. I have it down to a rolling chassis. I have the 550 motor out and am ready to take a bucket of hot soapy water to it. After I have cleaned up the chassis I will tackle the motor i.e. Clean valves, Install clutch components, install pipe and various parts. Well here are some pics of my progress.

A little fun
Well I have allot of work to do so I will keep this post going, I will keep it up dated as soon as I make some progress.
UPDATE: Aug 15 2007
Look what the post man brought me yesterday, When I was opening it I was trembling with excitement. My wife told me afterwards to stop shaking but I couldn't stop I had to start on my sled and that was that

Just like Christmas
Well last night I cleaned my sled and after 3 hours and 30 cuts this is what I was left with. IMO it turned out quite well.

Nice and clean
Well tonight I am going to tackle the motor, I will be cleaning the valves, cleaning the cases and the carbs. Man the end is so close yet so far! I guess I have to keep working and it WILL get done I will keep you all posted on my progress.
Update: Aug 17 2007
Sorry no pics for this one, I was in work mode last night. I was on a mission to get my motor buttoned up. I installed my V Force 3 reeds last night, cleaned the cases, And serviced my valves assembly. I found out why my sled was running like crap before I killed it. The valves were dirtier then I have ever seen em, the reed petals had a 1/8" gap from the cage face to the petals, I guess it was good that I replaced them when I did. I also did a preliminary fit of all the parts to fit in the engine bay. Boy do I have to say that pipe looks good in there man, It is so BIG, I did not realize how much room it takes up, but it all fits so I am happy about that one. Well I will try and get some pics of some of the work I did last night and I will keep you all posted.
Well, made some progress tonight. I got the wiring harness put in. I also got the motor in and bolted down. Here are some pics of what I have done so far. I also put a set of 3M Greptile grips on, those are nice, very grippy.

Poppin that fan cooled cherry with a liquid bomb.

3M Greptile
But after I got everything in and snuged up with lock tite on ALL the bolts, I found out that my tourq stop is a bit too long so I have to take it all out and modify the stopa little, oh well, live and learn. All I am doing now is waiting for a few more parts and I'm off. I am also looking for a small radiator to put in the front of the sled to get some extra cooling during the couple of monthes where the snow here is as hard as concrete. As you can see in the picture of the sled there is a cut out at the front for some air flow, I plan on putting the rad there.
forgot to add that I also got the cooling system in and plumed up, here are some pics of that. Man it was nerve racking drilling holes in my tunnel. I must of made like a hundred measurements to make sure I did not screw up. But it all worked out and I got everything allined.

The stress
Well I have some more parts on order, I hope they come in soon. They are really holding me up.
