By donating to Snowmobile Fanatics, you will ensure the future of the website. We love being here for you and if you feel you've come away from this site feeling good that it brought you something you didn’t have before, whether that be snowmobile knowledge, entertainment, or simply making friends and hooking up for a ride with a fellow snowmobiler, we ask you to donate so that the site may continue to provide these same benefits to you in the future, as well as many others.
We spend many countless hours working on and maintaining the site. These costs, as well as hardware, software, and hosting expenses, add up in a real hurry. Your donation towards these expenses is greatly appreciated, no matter what amount it may be.
One thing to remember is that we are not forcing or requiring anyone to donate and you can donate any amount you see fit. We plan on keeping this website a free one to all, now and in the future, so that as many snowmobilers can benefit from it as possible.
Lastly, we want to thank you for being here and thank you for being a member. We also want to thank all of those who have donated so far. Your generosity helps out in so many ways.

Past Donation Cause - New Snowmobile Fanatics Server
Snowmobile Fanatics continues to get busier and busier. Last winter we broke our previous records with the amount of people online, the amount of data transfer approaching a terabyte per month and hits (requests for items) to the server well into the tens of millions per month. This is a three times increase over the winter season of 2004 to 2005. We anticipate seeing similar results this upcoming season. With this amount of traffic, we have quickly outgrown our current server which is now two years old and starting to become plagued with problems as many of you may have experienced. To minimize downtime, increase speed, and give everyone fresh new content and features, weve been formulating a plan. This plan includes building a much more powerful server which will work side by side with our current server in a sort of setup which should provide us with the ultimate flexibility as well as everything else we would like including vastly increased speed and reliability.
This is not a cheap undertaking, not by any means. The server will be fairly expensive, but because Ill personally be undertaking the building of it myself, costs will be reduced. Id like to try and gets some funds pooling from everyone here at the site, including myself, so that we may attempt to have a chance at purchasing a and setting up a new server before this Fall. If youre interested in the configuration of the server and what I have in mind, continue reading.
Read more about the server and software configuration.
UPDATE: 9/8/2006 - Today we reached the initial goal of $1500. Many of the members requested we increase the goal amount to equal the entire amount of the server which was well over this goal of $1500. As of now, the new goal has been set.
UPDATE: 12/14/2006 - Wow, we blew through the second goal that was set! The server is offically paid for! I'm going to update this page so that we may continue donations in the future, but they will not go directly towards new server expenses, but rather hosting fees, hardware upkeep, and maintinence.
