I have a 2003 pro x 600 and a Garmin nuvi 255 GPS receiver.
First off where would be the appropriate place to wire a DC outlet on to the sled? I think the yellow wire coming out by my left foot is 12v? not to sure though...
Second has anyone used a GPS unit for snowmobiling in New York, specifically western new york as well as the Tug Hill and Old Forge region? I have found a few places to buy maps from (like 30 - 50$) but was wondering if anyone had any reccomindations?..or advice?
Third does anyone have any techniques or tricks for mounting a GPS to a sled? Ive seen atv/bike mounts that cost over 50$ but I'm confident I can anchor it myself for a lot cheaper.

Any and all input is appreciated.

Thanks...Think Snow(I've started to look at the jet skis in the garage already...)

Do NOT pay for GPS files. I think them selling them might actually be illegal since NYS is the ones that did them and they are on the NY GIS clearinghouse website.

There is a download online on a snowmobile map website for free. I think it was this one http://www.gpssledmaps.com/maps/ny.php
