After last nights dumping of snow, I hooked up with one of my bosses from work, and a couple of his buddies for a nice afternoon ride today. Nothing but sunny skies, and fresh snow, we hit the trails for a decent rip. We put about 100kms on today, my sled held up without a hiccup all afternoon, just making this a perfect outting. Here are some photos:

Just as we were heading back, the Switchback was having some issues so we pulled off and checked things out. Looks like he put a hole in one of his pistons, not sure how, but crappy way to end the afternoon.

Haha, I kinda felt like the odd ball, but I was able to keep up to them for the most part. I got to try out the RMK900 on the lake and through some powder, that thing was wild, but didn't turn worth crap

The pictures looked like you had a good time. If I had a 900 rmk 166" I would put a 1800cc triple into it and be the biggest sled in maine

I really need to get my suspension dialed in more. Right after we got going, my assend was all over the place, and hard to turn. I checked it out, and the front suspension shock was frozen, so I had next to no track down on the snow. I was able to warm it up enough to get it to open, and it was fine all day, but little things like that need attention. My front struts do not have enough preload on them and makes the sled turn like an 18-wheeler. Some of the bushings are worn out, so my steerring isn't very responsive.

i like the fourth picture in the top row. its like a time gap between Yamaha evolution

Bambi would have been a better and shorter movie if he was shot in the beginning with his mother

if a ride on lawn mower takes bumps better than your sled, its time to upgrade

Haha, I wish it was that easy. He would laugh at me, and tell me I make more than enough money for the job I do :)

I thought the trails and country looked very familiar. We have a cabin in Echo Bay. I know you have tons of snow right now. Talked to my friend who lives there last night. I just could not afford to make it up there this winter. Maybe next year we will see you on the trail.

In one of those pics are you on Trout Lake? one of the trail pics looks close to Goulias R.? am I close on any of those guesses?
I sure wish I could have made it up there, sure looks good!

Very good eye my friend :) The group left from my boss' place in the westend, headed out to the highway, then ditchbanged our way about 20kms to the searchmount highway turnoff, then headed into the bush, ripped it up on some lakes, then back through troutlake, and back down the highway to town. Super fun route, it had everything, powder, straights, twisties, and amazing weather to top it off. Hopefully we will have another great winter next year, and you can make the trip up, we can all get together for a ride.

Is that the gas station near Heyden? I know that area pretty well. When I come up next year there should be a small group of us and we will stay right there at Trout Lake. Our cabin is not winerized, so I usually stay with our nieghbor and friends in Echo Bay when it's just me and another person. There should be 5or 6 of us next year, which is to many to stay our neighbors place, so we will stay at the Trout Lake cabins. I did the painting inside Trout Lake Restaurant. I guess they want me to do
some more, so you might get to see me kick out a small mural next year while I slurp some Molsons down Have you ever made the ride back to Premeau Lake?! I wonder if he opened his rstaurant this year?

Nice! Small world for sure. That gas station is on the corner of highway 17 and the Searchmont highway (can't remember the highway #). I'm not totally sure where Premeau lake is, I've more than likely been on it at one time or another knowing my luck. I have some really good friends that live in trout lake right now, pretty much the only reason I get out there. Luckily my buddy is into motorsports, and loves to take his old beaters out. I know where the Zone is, but I haven't made it out that far yet, I don't have a trail pass so I stick kind of close to home when I go out. It would be pretty rad to all meet up, do some riding then grab some beers when you come up next season for sure.
