10 maybe, give or take 1 or 2. 2 of them were for 10-20 below weather, 2 were for the wind storm, 4 for the week when we got 10 inches of snow, and a couple for ice and snow. Now we get to go an extra week in the summer.

So we had two days of no school. We had about -40, then it warmed up to like +40 the next day then froze that night. We had Mother Nature made Ice Roads and nobody could stay on them.
"4 for the week when we got 10 inches of snow" I'm kinda pissed about that (not at you), we just got about 12" overnight last week and still had to go to work/school. Wish we coulda played in it a bit more. Was sure nice on Sunday though!

None. It takes VERY s#itty weather to shut down the university. Actually, I think we had one day last semester during finals week, but I didn't have any tests that day, so I had it off anyway.
Back home, our high school has had upwards of 15 days off...that's more than the last 5+ years combine. Lucky for them, they have to make up 3 or 4 days that were assigned for "make-up days," and the state is pardoning the schools of the rest.

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion.

woodbooga: (WOOD-boog-ah), n. regional dialect, common to areas of New Hampshire and Maine including the towns of Ossipee, Alton, Farmington, Acton, and Lebanon; one who attempts to obtain free firewood to fuel woodburning appliances in an effort to mitigate expenses related to home heating with fossil fuels. Frequently used as a term of derision by non-woodburners who mock the presence of loose bark and other wood waste in the beds of their pickup trucks.

more than 3, I lost count, at LEAST 2 were snow days and one day it was like -30 out and the school wanted no one walking in those temperatures for more than 5 minutes like half of the people here do. one of those snow days the wind was blowing so hard I only got 2 inches around my house and everywhere else not on my 30 acres was like 8+ inches of snow so I think I got ripped off that day.
