Break in chip on an 08 M8? - Is there a break in chip in it? and if so what does it do? started by 700wildcat

I read somewhere that there is a break in chip that doesn't let the sled go full out for a couple hundred miles. Is this true?

No it isnt true, but like anything it works better once fully broken in.

yeah for the first 300 miles or so dont go running the rpms to high. just take it easy.

Nothing wrong with running high RPM's ( for what is called for on the machine anyways) as long as you dont hold it wide open for a long time. On hard, then off again with short periods of being hard on it helps to seat the rings and break it in.
