Anyone have inconsistent throttle response on 09 800 dragon. Had the reflash done... little to no differenceIt pulls hard on hard pack but not in deep snow and especially on long pulls. It loses ground speed to the XP after 20-30 seconds in the deep and pulls away on the old snow. RPM will sometimes drop to 6500 at full throttle. Please help!

Exhaust can getting plugged in the deep snow?

Like this guy asked, is your exhaust outlet getting blocked??

You could be right, but never seen poor compression be so inconsistent!

Like I replied, it will continue on side hills. Even on it's left side it doesn't seem to matter

haha yeah i seem to be quite the advocate on the 800 liberty engines. I was gonna say the same thing, check compression. Should be at about 130 im guessing? From what i heard on these before thats what it SHOULD be. But most people are getting about 120.

It is random but it doesn't die and you don't have to let off the throttle... sometimes letting off and hammering it agian releives it for a bit

that is weird... well... at least your still under warrenty! i wouldnt be hammering it to hard. sounds like a compression problem. id be sure to check the compression and make sure its up to par.

The problem is in the power jets. There is a low jet and a high jet. There is a lean bog when switching from the low to the high jet. Polaris hasn't figured it out yet and might not be able to according to an article I read in Snotech magazine.

these are EFI, they shouldn't have jets.

the cleanfire injectors is a efi system with 4 injection sites and not two, hense why you have the low jet and hit jet in each cylinder. i was confused about exactly what the cleanfire system was, i did some research and from my understanding this is what it is.

Me and my family were in Summit last week and every single one of our sleds were running crappy. Mine wouldn't rip in the powder for nothing but on the trails it did okay. eventualy the problem got worse and worse and i eventually was running on one piston. when we took it into the garage my carbs were iced over from snow coming in through the air box from me riding in the powder. (it was bottumless that weekend, it freaken sucked) So we cleaned out the water from the carbs and hte air box and put some new plugs in and it ran like a champ after that. i put ductape over the grills on the cailing to keep snow from getting in and a ripped shirt over the airbox whole. hope this helps

Is it possible that it is clutching problem. It sounds like it may not be backshifting?

Sound to me like you are getting snow ingestion. Have you opened your hood and looked into your air box after riding fro a while in deep snow? Most likely the air censer in there will be wet, or have snow on it. Also are your air intake vents on the side of your dash clear when it bogs? Or covered in snow? If covered it will not get air like it need, and will bog like your saying. Few things to check there.

If you've ruled out engine issues, I'd say too much weight in the primary, or too much helix angle.

I to believe your sled is getting choked up in the deep stuff. Look into a deflector for the exhaust and keeping the snow out of your airbox.

I had the same problem with my 02 last year. It was an animal on the hardpack and in the depp fluffy stuff it was a dog. I think I was getting snow in my intake and plugging my exhaust. I bent my exhaust deflector down and sealed my headlight up better and it was fine this year.

I kind-of hope you guys are right about the snow ingustion... but I have to ask myself why a 800 dragon with a 163" track isn't built to handle fluffy snow as well as say my 06 700 151". cus other than a couple of belts a day it ran without hesitation... NOT ONCE!!!

Thats what I asked myself to but my headlight wasnt even close to sealed well. I bought some foam stripping stuff and stuck it in there. It was all good after that.

Sorry I wasn't very clear. It is persistent on the 09, but never happened on the 06.(both are IQ's)

There doesn't seem to be any more than normal condensation in the airbox but I will see what I can do. Hopefully the problem isn't due to lack of air but, I guess this will tell me.

Do you have a exhaust deflector in front of the exhaust on the belly pan to "plow" the snow?
