So for those of you who missed my last thread, I'm on the baja team at the college I go to. Baja is one sector of a the Society of Automotive Engineers "Extreme Engineering" program to give college students hands on experience in engineering. The pictures I have here are from an invitational event that Michigan Tech. University puts on every year that we use to help us get geared up for the international race that the SAE puts on in the summer.

The event was hosted on Lake Linden in the UP of michigan, our 60 car took 6th place with 3 shocks and being down for 10 - 14 laps.

I've always thought it would be fun to take the bike motor out of the Formula cars and put it into the Baja rigs. Be the ultimate little go-kart...lol.

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!

Because it keeps everything competitive and it prevents us from doing some really dumb things. I guess a few years ago a graduated member from a team dropped a sled motor in one, jumped like 70 feet and when he landed, the frame bottomed and he broke his back. I think because of this, we now have to destroy our cars if we decide we want to get rid of them; it's like a liability thing for SAE.

But I totally agree, if these things had like a 600 twin in them... hold onto her...

yeah a 600 twin in one of those would RIPPPP. but i can see the liability issues with that in a race. but you gotta go big or go home. what school do you go to?

Kettering was there and their pit was actually next to ours; they took 23.
