OK, so the economy is in the ****ter, so I thought we'd play one of my favorite time-wasting mind games. It makes me happy to dream, anyway.

Alright, you were just handed one million dollars. What's the very FIRST thing you do?

I would do a few repairs around the house, build the new garage I want, pay off the remainder of the house loan, buy a new pickup, and the rest would be invested.

Yep, I did say invested. I beleive the markets can't go up forever nor can they go down forever. History has shown that sooner or later they will rebound and the opportunity will be there for investments to really grow. I think now is the time to be investing, but doing so very carefully.

take it to a few different banks and say "i have a million dollars what can i get for COMPOUND interest off this?" highest rate wins, live off the interest, making like 1,000 dollars a month, reinvesting that 1000 dollars back into the account, so i can make even more money, continue life as it is now, maybe save up a few G's off the account and go on a nice vaca, get a new snowmobile, nice truck. what a typical gearhead college student would do.

I would, without talking to anyone, or making a single phone call, drive as fast as I could to my local dealer. Throw down the cash to walk away with brand new gear, and two RMK Assaults. THEN, I'd call my wife and tell her the good news.

Unlike the jerk-author of this thread, *I* would call him with the instructions to drop everything and meet me at the local Polaris dealer. We'd each get our pick of 2 sleds a piece on whatever we want in stock, order 2 Rush's for next season, and get all the gear us and our wives would ever need.

Then right from there to the Dodge dealer for 2 Mega Cab Powerwagons followed by a quick stop to wherever sells the best fully enclosed toy trailers. Except ixos will probably want something girly like a Ford..

But I think the first thing, the VERY VERY first thing I would do is sign up for 2 weeks at Chris Burandt's back country adventures. For both of us, of course.

You see, I like to share the love. I'm no greedy bastard.

Hm, first I would pay off my college loans. Drop about 12g on a sled/trailer.

Buy a house, pay for going back to school, buy a dog.

Progressively invest the rest into my IRA.

Work as a teacher for the rest of my life, coach lacrosse, and be perfectly happy.
