I've done it. Not that hard and way cheaper, just need a few simple tools and take your time.

It is really easy to tint window your self. I did it to the back window of my pickup. It looks decent and the only a couple air bubbles in the corners. Make sure you get it checked for legal reasons before inspections.

Ive done 3 or 4 cars before its not too hard,if you have patience then go for it,but IMO id rather pay to have it done that way if it peels or messes up then someone else has to repair the botch.

A hair dryer/heat gun is your friend. It is just time consuming and you have to have lots of patience.

$200 or more is way too much. You should be able to get it done for $150 or less. I feel it's way worth it to get it done. They can do it like half a hour and it'll be perfect and most places will warranty it so if it rips or bubbles they'll fix it.

I've tinted windows in cars, trucks, even tractors, and if you have patience to get all the bubbles out it should come out fine, I've had some of mine come out good, and others bad, the only way you can learn is by working with it. If you can learn to do it yourself it is way cheaper than paying a shop to do it.

I had my grand am done by a shop for like 200 bucks i think and they did a great job. I went 35% on the sides and back and really wish i had gone 25% since its not as dark as i had thought. When it comes to stuff like this i have little patience so thats why i take it to the pro's.

I spend money i don't have, on parts i don't need, to impress people i don't know.

I got a price quote of $206 for my GMC. I believe that if I get it done professionally it will look better and wont have the glare when there is oncoming trafic.

I dont know how to explain it exactly but I self tinted the back sliding window in my truck. On the inside of the window. Now when there is oncoming traffic the light hits the the back window and is really bright to the point where it seems like I turned my inside lights on. And when it happens there is NO way I can look at the rear view mirror. I do about 90% city driving so it gets irritating. To make it simple it acts like a mirror.
