Just seeing how many of you have put the sleds to rest for the summer. I did yesterday, and took out my v-star for a little spin. It was 44 degrees in fargo, and the snow was melting VERY fast, so I decided to take the bike for a little ride. I gotta say it was a great winter for me, put on just shy of 1200 miles on the old RMK, and another great trip out west (first time to west yellowstone). I was kinda bummed to throw the cover over the sled, but it had to end sometime right?
I hope I die like my grandpa did - quietly in his sleep... not like the rest of the people in the car.

We will be putting the sleds away for the year within the next few weeks. I need to find a weekend to go back home and do it but i go to school 5 days a week and work 6 days a week so its hard to find time.
Had a great year, made 3 trips out west, 1 trip up north, and rode 2 times back at home for a total of about 1100 miles, not the most but they were a great 1100 miles. I love winter but its time for summer now!!

Sleds been in the trailer since our last trip in mid February. I had a great season up north, decent riding here. We only had one storm that was rideable and we only got 10-13 inches then(1.2 inches total in February, no snow in March). A few hours north of us got a good bit more snow then us in January, which is normal. Rode 200 miles around home, a lot of it was ditches and fields, and 1100 up in Michigan. Been riding the atvs for about a month. My yard is light to dark green in spots. But is green. Probably wont see her again till this fall. They sit in our trailer behind our shop all summer.

For the most part they are put away, need to grease, drain carbs and fogg them. Then the fun of buying 2 tracks and installing them on the 440 and 700.

I put the cover on my sled and tucked it away in the garage on March 7th. Then I took the tire chains off the 4-wheeler so that thing is ready to go any day now.

Fogging it, means to spray oil into the carbs to coat the engine with oil for storage, so that it does not rust.
Both of my sleds were put away Jan 11th, when I got home from the hospital with a fractured hip..
95 - Storm 800 - Modded - AKA: FrankenStorm - Totalled near 100mph at Tug Hill!
96 - XLT/SP with Storm 800 trip/trip and now EFI - FrankenStorm II lives...

05 - Edge 800 long track - Stayin' stock for now..

The Pantera has been away since January. Now I have to put the clutch on. My dad took one step outside last Saturday and said "Today would be a good day to put the sled away." So for about a week they both have been waiting for next winter.

Managed to log the last 150 miles in northern Minnesota last Saturday, thats it for the sled this year. When I got home Sunday rode a friends 1800 Goldwing for about 5 miles, my Wing won't be out of the shop for another week or two......
It's all about the ride to get there, the destination doesn't matter!

Must be nice!!! I've started to tear mine down. Have to replace the belly pan. Then it's on to polishing the tunnel, got to replace a couple of bushings in the steering shaft, new paint job, the list goes on and on.
