Hi

I have a 2000 Polaris 600 RMK that I have to make due with at least for another season, I am ready to spend some money on improvements.

There are a few problems with it, like:

-the front supension is almost finished, someone told me that if I could get my hands on springs from an even older Polaris XLT, that that would do a lot since they are longer than the stock ones. That would raise the front end of the sled.

-skis, I desprately need new ones or at least a pair that are in better shape then the current ones. They are so worn that you can see metal from underneath them. Should I just buy the cheapest used ones I can find or am I really going to feel the difference with new ones?

-I am told that the clutch hasn´t got too many miles left in it, so I need to do something about that as well. Any recommendations ?

I am looking at budget converted to USD and US pricing of approx. USD 500-600 for the above. I am also thinking of raising the seat and handlebar, but that´s something I can do cheaply.

All the best from Iceland,
Alli Gudjonsson

Depends on how you ride, mainly trails, Id get a set of moderately agressive C&A's, used they can be had on HCS/Snowest classifieds for anywhere from 150-350, depending on if they include carbides, and overall shape/model. Persoanlly I really liked the SLP Powder pros's I had on my 600, I did alot of powder/offtrail and some trail, maybe 70/30%

-I am told that the clutch hasn´t got too many miles left in it, so I need to do something about that as well. Any recommendations ? How many miles are on your sled total? I change weights/pins/springs every 3500-4500 miles. I never did anything further, but you will want to check bushings etc.. Im no expert in that department

I am looking at budget converted to USD and US pricing of approx. USD 500-600 for the above. I am also thinking of raising the seat and handlebar, but that´s something I can do cheaply. As for risers, if you sit/stand 50/50 do a 3-5" rise, if you stand mostly do 6"+. Buy articlating, they save trouble and are much nicer. All risers will cost a bit differrnt, some you wont need an adapter, some you will. Most research can be done easyily by you, alot of people make topics asking this and that for risers and it gets old.
