Well some of you might remember my topics about a week ago about this pro-x 440, well I decided I'm going to get it. It runs on pump but doesn't have oil injection. Bottom line is I need to know what ratio to use, and also what the best oil is.

32:1 and I would run Ves in it if its trail converted. Another oil you could use, but I don't know if they make it anymore, but polaris had actually race oil which was the same thing as the VES is now, only red. They only had it for a few years.

Amsoil Dominator is another good one to use and its usually cheaper.

Use whatever decent oil you can get easily, and mix it at 40:1 to be safe. Personally Id mix it at 50:1. Just because its a former race sled doesnt mean it needs to burn more oil.

Octane shouldn't make a difference to how much oil to uses. It is still the same moving parts in the engine, the only difference is now it has the low compression heads.



Polaristhewayout your going to want to run a syn. oil because the engine has exhaust valves. You dont need to, but you will notice after awhile that the sled will run funny. This is because the valves are gummed up with carbon, a syn. oil will reduce the amount of carbon and you can go longer between cleaning the valves.

Amsoil hp injector synthetic i use it in almost everything i ride from my dirrbikes to my quad and in my sleds!

ok so a synthetic with a 32:1 then? agreed? btw thanks to all of you guys for helpin me out, even though i doubt i will even get to ride it this year.

No real need for 32:1, unless you are racing it. I would use a good synthetic(klotz) with 93 octane fuel. Check your plugs often and adjust carbs(jets) when needed. Next year get a tempaflow and get your base jetting right then you will not have to ever rejet again.
