I can tell you that sled is going to fly with the 700 in it when you get it all tuned in. Mine isnt even tuned in yet, and it rips hard, but then again im pushing a little more compression, twin pipes, and some clutching that also isnt dialed in yet.
Are those allen head bolts on the head of the cylinders? If so, thats odd ive never seen those. Im guessing you put those on yourself.
NICE ! My compression test is really inconclusive as the engine wasn't fastened down and the pull handle isn't on yet Ropeburn !....So, I am going to redo the test after it's all fastened down and I have the pull start hooked up right...LMAO
Yes the allen bolts were my Idea. Scrapped that idea and put the stock bolts back on. I didnt like the fit of the allens. It looked good though.
Got my exhaust all moc'd up yesterday looks like it's all gonna fit nice.

Allen bolts prolly werent as easy to get it torqued down either im guessing. The pipe should fit in there under the hood fairly easy, and just trim a little off the hood maybe, that may be needed as the xc and rmk 98s those engines come out of with the wedge hood have a little spot where the pipe shows, and the older wedge hoods dont have that.
Is your cooling system hooked up yet? I dont think that coolant tank is going to work, or is it? I cant remember exactly how the stock set up works.. Nevermind it looks as if you have the cooling already hooked up, and im starting to remember how it works haha..

If i remember right, and im pretty sure i do now, the 98 xc 6 and 7s used a coolant tank just like that, and how you have it hooked up (as far as i can tell) and it should work fine with the parts you got.
Did you ever have the 600 cdi, or clutch? If you got the cdi you can run it with that, but recomened that you get the 700 one before really riding it. The 600 wont hurt it, just wont put out all the power it has. (The timing curve is different)

Nope, never had either one. The only clutch I have is the original 500 Indy clutch. That won't work because the pto shafts are different. As far as the coolant bottle goes. one line hooks up right under the rad. cap and one hooks up next too the coolant outlet just infront of the recoil up in behind the oil pump.

Sofar so good, put on a slp boost bottle, found a 700 cdi and am looking for slp powerpacks for the carbs. Exhaust is buttoned up and the hood fits well. still need to put in torque braces and find some plugends for the cdi.

New Billet pull start put on today, This guy is out of Middleburg PA
and does nice work. Since I put this on I figured I would retry my compression tests again. Turns out both cylinders are at 125 psi Respectively !

Thanks again guys for the compliments, It's almost finished ! Engine is all but finished, just need a few electrical plugs. and still gotta finish the extra 10 frontend, for some reason it's not all fitting properly. I tried looking up the original sticky thread on this, but I cannot find it anymore, it had the list of parts that is required for the swap. I fear I have gotten the wrong radius rods. anybody know which ones I need and the measurements on them?....

rsims, thanx for the compliment, I just hope it runs as good as it's coming out so far ...LOL .... By the looks of your avitar pick you've got a pretty nice group there too.
Clutch is here FINALLY ! but they didn't send the clutch bolt along with it, so It sets on the pto shaft but it's not bolted fast yet. Clutch bolt is on it's way from Wis.

Not as far as I know, this came off of an xc 600, and with the mods so far and if i make a reed change the clutch is gonna get a workover anyway. I'm not sure if the setups are the same from an indy 500 to an xc600. That's Artiksno's area of expertise.
Yeah Poo I was pumped when the box got here, then I opened it and no clutch bolt....!

This clutch will have different weights and spring as compared to indy 500 stock stuff. We may need to make a few changes since you're running a 700...

So, Today I finally got the xtra 10 front stuffed in...LOL...
I still need the different front spindles and steering arms yet to button it up. I cannot find the original thread that was posted with all the parts needed for the frontend swap. If anyone knows what model and year front spindles and steering arms I need please post it. it would be greatly appreciated.

I'd have to look at my recipts to know exactly what year sled everything came off of, but general rule is any xtra10 that isn't CRC.

Trailing arms are the stock arms.
Radius rods, shocks, tie rods , steering arms and spindles all need to be off of an extra 10 non CRC. Supposedly you are able to use the stock tortion bar, but for some reason mine was just a little too short for my liking. So, I extended it by about an inch and a half on either side.
There was a sticky thread that had all the parts listed, but I can't find it anymore.
