I have the same year RMK except a 700. Runs really strong still with 4k on it. Im not sure but i heard that the 800's and 900's had crank problems on this model.. I could be wrong.

The 700(actually 755cc) and 900 (855cc) were offered in the IQrmk chassis starting in 05. These sleds have "vibration issues" that some people really don't like. Personally I don't see the problem.
Polaris also offered the traditional big block 700 and 800 engines in the edge chassis that year. So you need to clarify what you're looking at before you intend to buy anything.

I would from my experience go with the 700 engine, in my opinion it is the best engine polaris ever made, the 800s have been known to be underbuilt and have various other problems. I have a 99 rmk 700 and ive broken some stuff on it like the trailing arm (rock), and steering tab (no idea), but the engine has never let me down, ever.

My 06 700 (755) 151 rmk iq has been extremely reliable after I put the slp R&D kit on it... Only issue is viberation and very belt hungery. Anywhere from 500 miles to 11 milesCan't keep torque stop and engine mounts in it. Seemed to only happen on long side hill pulls lasting longer then 30 seconds or so. Probably o.k. on flat land. Hope this helps!
