So I get to go ride 2010 Cat M sleds tomorrow with the guys from Woody's Outdoor Performance.
They are about 30 miles over in Caldwell, Idaho.
Really good guys. I've done some of their snowblast type shows with them before and all,
can't remember ever not having fun with them. They treat their customers really nice too.

Anyway, Tomorrow we are riding up at Pilots Peak. They don't go up there so often as they do West Mountain,
So I think I'll be showing them some of the fun hills etc.
The wife isn't going on this one, so the body armor is definately packed.
Snowtel site says that we have 78 inches at parking lot elevation,
and probably about double that up high.
It's supposed to snow all day tomorrow too. Very cool.

I still have the pictures from the 2010 sled show yesterday on the camera,
so I'll get more pics tomorow with helmet cam footage and post them all up

Thats awesome! Let us know what you think of the new 800 HO. I know an engineer from arctic and I got to ride a 2009 M8 hcr and a 2010 CF 800 HO a couple weeks ago. There is a very noticeable power difference between the 2 sleds. I still liked the M8 better because of the track and such. With that new motor in the M8 for 2010, that will be one awesome sled.

So it was probably some of the best snow all year first of all.
The helmet cam vide will be cool, but I need time to put it together.

So lets get to it.

The M Sleds:

Power delivery was solid right off the bottom and held well through the RPMs to about 8,000.
They held that 8K really well and pulled harder than my 07 Dragon 700 all the way through with no problem at all.
I was very impressed with the power delivery and in how they were clutched.
Now the disclaimer:
I don't know if the clutching set up will be the same set up on production models, and I do know that Dave, the owner of Woody's, has a set up that he likes. That may have been it that I rode today, but honestly, I forgot to ask.

Handeling felt very predictable for the most part, until you pull it over to carve, and then it jumps right over on it's side right now with zero hesitation.
It felt different to me because it took more pull to get it to come over than my Dragon, but once it came over, it was hard and fast.
That would be good for quick desisions, but would also take a little getting used to.
I did roll it up on it's side on a small hill too. oops.
No damage done though, it was friggen deep.
Putting taller bars on it would make it better because you would have more leverage to pull it over easier and smooth that out.

Suspension felt good, I didn't ask how much travel etc, but it felt good.
Definately comperable to my Dragon.

Ergonomics were good.
That tank is really, really narrow between my knees.
The telescopic steering post is nice. I like it. It didn't go quite tall enough for me though.
Putting Oversized bar adapters and Back Country Bend bars would take care of that though.
That's definately going to be the good set up for the M series.
Stock brake lines and cables look to be able to reach that too.

Fit and finish looked to be first rate front to back.
I like the looks of the new shorty seat.

That brings me to my only real complaint about the sled at this point:
The new seat is damn slick.

All in All, really nice sleds.
They get a solid 9 out of 10 rating from me at this point, and no one gets a 10.

So now you've heard enough from me,
Here's the pics:

This is Jacob, He does sales and some parts at Woody's.
I think he has to do a lot more too, because his Dad owns the store and I know his dad. lol
Jacob is a really nice guy and very smooth on the sleds.
He was born into riding and it shows. Good guy.

This is Earl. Everyone say hi to Earl. lol
He's also with Woody's and also a really good guy.
He's ridden since about for ever and it shows.
Very smooth and he makes it look effortless.

Good question and definately tempting.
I'm buying a house right now though and so that negates any new sled purchase for at the very least, this year.

Good to know Darin. The only other thing I have been hearing is a few guys say the seat does not fit so good. Seems to have a bit of play in it. What did you notice? Well I'm on my way out the door right now to Spring check an M8 sno pro 153. It'll be a long summer.

Fact
It pulled hard though, like a freight train.

I like the SnoPro a little better I think.
With just a short time, it's still hard to tell.
I spent most of the day showing them around some cool locations up there on my Dragon

I didn't notice that with the seat, but I don't sit much either.
It was my knee that was sliding all over on it.

I wouldn't worry about the new motor. They tested the crap out of it. Its supposed to run 91 octane. They rode it on 87 for 220 miles one day with not one problem. Not saying that means its gonna be perfect. If they do have problems, I bet it won't take 2 years plus to fix like Poo.
