sick!!, three question for ya, why did you get rid of your shorty seat? how compfy was it compared to your PASS seat? and are those xenon headlight bulbs better than the stock halogen ones? where do you put yor headlight cover at night?

i really liked my shorty but the foam was broken down and iaw too squishy for my likeing i also got 100 more that i payed for it so thats a bonus too lol the bulbs are noticeably brighter and help a bit when its snowing too and i diddnt really use the headlight cover last year but i plan on putting a few small peices of velcro under the windsheild and putting it there

well i decided that this weekened would put my cobra on and re paint my right trailing arm sence i re painted the other side a while ago so i started by removing the rear suspention and then went on to pull the right trailing arm to paint it

so while that dryed i started to remove the old track got the pipe and can off and then the chaincase cover and went to pull the gears/chain off and what do i find but the lower gear bolt sheired off in the driveshaft inwhich had already happened once to this sled before i purchaced it. but luckaly that was pretty much the extent of the damage the only other thing that happened was that i think the bolt had gotten cought in between the cover and chain which caused the cover to chip a little but its nothing major so it will be fine and then the head of the bolt/washers went behind the lower gear and sat there so now the fun part i finished removing the driveshaft and track put the driveshaft up on the bench and started goin at the bolt with a punch and hammer to try and spin it out after about 1 hr of messin around tryin to get it out it finally spun out

and the impliments of destruction

so my trailing arm was now dry and i re installed that

and moved on to the track and skid finished that and then reinstalled the pipe and can i diddnt put the cover back on the chaincase yet because i diddnt have a grade 8 bolt to put in it so i just found one that fit for now because i needed to put it back in the other garage so this week i will get that bolt and put the case back together

After I bought the gel wraps, I have sworn that any sled I buy, if it needs new grips, will get the gel wraps. My hands never slipped off of them, and with the RSI handwarmers, they never had ice build up or anything. Nice grip, and they don't bother your hands when you ride without gloves.

finaly started workin on the sled again this weekend starting with painting my hood screens white with rustolium plastic paint ive never had good luck with the krylon stuff so i prefer this after that i pulled my rear skid and degreased and cleaned it then i completely dissasembled it and re painted the arms and then i sanded then primed and painted the rails i cant afford powdercoat so weel have to see how itll hold up it seems pretty durable so far i did 2 coats of primer like 4 coats of black and 2 coats of clear and while those were drying i went ahead and switched my clutching up a bit i threw in an almond spring with some 10-60 weights i was told to do that with an almond/blue but diddnt have one so im gonna try this out and see how it works she seems a bit snappier in the little distance i have to test it heres some pics

ill add a vid in a bit

The white accents on the sled looks good.
I believe there is some kind of vinal paint, so you could get rid of that blue.

well winters pretty much over here so i decided i would start my thread for the year it starts out as this 2005 xcsp 600, chrome windy, stripped decals, 3.5 inch rox riser, powermadd handguards, c&a ultra 3 skis,1.25 camoplast preditor, slp can fly bars/barpad xeon headlight bulbs and rsi barhooks, shorty seat, odi grips, light blue clutch spring,
so far i have bought a ryde fx clicker shock for the rear i got for 75.00 but it needs a new shaft +40.00 a camoplast cobra for 259.00 and i have sold my shorty seat for 300.00, painted blue headlight cover black.

my plans so far are protaper contour bars carmichel bend, iqr seat modded to fit edge tank, rebuild all shocks, new waterjacket cover from a 500 (black), put the stock clutch spring back in the light blue was a last minute thing, get hood painted flat black, reinforce tunnel in snowflap area where its cracking, new waterpump belt(prevenitive maintnence),new hyfax, new bearings in skid,re paint my pipe, clean clutches, rsi handwarmers, change pilot jets(any recomendations loads up bad on low end),new torsion springs (mine are in bad shape), possibly new ignition (messing with tach), billit recoil handle,
and powdercoat
the suspention rails (gloss black) part of the rear torque arm (gloss white) trailing arms (black) radius rods (lime green) front springs (white) a few shafts in the rear skid (lime green) spindle tops (white) shock support rods(white) rear bumper (lime green) riser (lime green)

heres some pics of the sled before

and heres a few pics of the parts purchased

and a few pics if what the parts will look like powdercoated

i think thats it for now if anyone knows where i could get an iqr seat let me know

Sick sled man, similar to the one i just bought check it out. Where did you buy your pro xr 440 windshield thats what i wanted on mine.
