Went around today doing some trail marker retrieval and some trail clean up for the beer drinkers and the Artic Cats:

the party no one cleaned up after
the party no one cleaned up after

the land owner was a little upset when we ran across this mess and we might lose part of the trail system next year!

We have the same problem around here especially in the sno-parks. Alotta people from the valley just come up and do whatever they do and just leave their trash stuffed in the snow bank. It really gives all snowmobilers a bad name and just gives greenies more ammo against us.

X2 All they do is ruin it for the rest of us!! That's pretty sickening seeing messes like that on the trails.

Thats just sick. I dont usually see too much around here, but when I do i always try to pick it up. Really, how hard is it to put your empty bottles or torn up belt into your pocket or the back of the sled? Like, Come on People!

If im out riding and see some trash, i try to pick up as much as i can get in my trunk.Crush the cans and what not down to small size.I pick up any parts such as wheels, flaps, gloves etc. You'd be surprized at how much parts i got this and last year.
IDK why people party on the trail and then leave a mess? is it that exciting to party in the woods? keep the drinking at home and dont be a dum@ss and get on ur sled afterwards. If i saw that and found out who it was id bag it up and leave it on their steps

I try and do the same. This year I found a brand new belt on the trail. just so happened to be the same belt i run on my mxz. I was pretty happy i got a free spare belt.

Trail pigs are the biggest reason that people who want to get rid of snowmobiles actually have a fight. This is just disgusting in so many ways. Id like to deck the f*ckers who just leave their trash in the woods, so they better hope i dont see them do it or there will be hell to pay.

Thats one area where I think the .10 cent deposit on cans and bottles really helps here in Mich. you don't see nearly the amount of trash left on trials or along road sides and parking lots and stuff.

Very true but first of all what are they doing drinking and riding in the first place, even if you pick up after yourself you are still a moron IMHO.

Unfortunatly, the "trail pigs" are everywhere! The rest of us are just going to have keep picking up after them AND find out who they are..."police" ourselves! Keep looking while riding for the abusers. Also, try to promote to the public the "good sledders" over the few "bad"!

This may be a little off topic, but it seems to fit. A couple of buddies and I were out riding, not doing anything wrong. The trail went into town and ran on some of the city streets. We were taking it easy and all of a sudden a van pulls up and blocks us and the trail (it's a marked trail). There I sit, not able to go anywhere without going into the middle of the street. A guy gets out and starts throwing his arms around, cursing at us. Mind you, we did NOTHING wrong!! Had to take the street to get out of the situation, as we didn't want to get anything going with this guy.
This sucks that we are being portrayed like this. A couple of guys out just trying to have a good time. I wonder what made the guy snap at us like that? Probably the people that abuse everything like mentioned so many times. That little incident almost ruined the whole trip. He doesn't realize we are not all like those, some of us respect the trails and people's property!!

Our club just put on a Land Owners dinner last Saturday.
We fed over 250 people... Pork chops potato...

I think its a good way to say thanks.
Hear if there having any problems

If only the people that cause all these problems, knew how hard club members have to work, to keep these trail open....then again, they only care about themselves.

our club puts on 2 land owner apperciation dinners. ones a potluck the other is a steak dinner. we also give landowners free nys vouchers for registering there sleds which is $5 worth. not alot but our small club cant afford much more. one trail runs through our property and every year i spend a day and a garbage can picking up belts, windshields, tailight, and beer cans! if you bring it in you can crush it and bring more back with you! it agravates me but i will go and pic it up so that our neighbors dont get upset.

Wow. idiots... Its not that hard to clean up after yourself, obviously these boneheads can't do it.

Thank you for cleaning it up, as opposed to just leaving it there.

Thanks to all the volunteers who take the time to clean up after other people. We are pretty lucky around our trail system as most people seem to have repect and do not litter. It is unfortunate that some of these dumba$$ people do this on private property and create nothing but problems for the clubs trying to keep trails open.

I have done a lot of cleaning up already this year. I was greatly disappointed partly because it was the first year my town had trails and the fact the land owners had to see the trash in there yard before our club went out. How hard is it to carry out trash?
