alirght so i watch this video and at the end he chopps the spark plugs, kinda confused me is he doing this for a reason? never see anything like it.
anyway if you got a explanation shoot one up here,



1989 suzuki 250R-FMF pipe,DT racing air filter
98 XC 700-piped,clutched,geared,extended,tons of accessories,fox floats,fox in rear,SLP skis,PSA heads,riser setup,probly more to cant remember.
97 Ultra 700-tripple pipes,High comp heads,clutched,geared.

You'd have to put a hell of a charge to them plugs to get them to fire, but fire they would.. They would likely not last very long though, as the ceramic would heat and cool a lot faster.

They'd also be very quick to change, as it's only be a few threads instead of turning for ever, and ever..

There's a reason plugs are made the way they are. I wouldn't change them. Also, he just took away all of the support for the ceramic. Maybe it'll break off and destroy his engine....that'll teach him!!!

I can't think a a good reason to do what he did other than say he's got custom plugs.

before I watched the video I fig. you were talking about side gapping. It looks like he cuts the side electrode off???

So, I couldn't just let it go and I went to the banshee site at the end of the video. The guy that made the video has the full video chapters listed. The last one is named plug chop. Thats how they are checking for what mains to use in the carbs.

hmm intersting so he cut them open after the ride? to make sure his main jets were set right..(correct me if im wrong)

Yup, they are being cut after a wot run to check. In the other video, it looked like he cut the whole end off, but this clears it up. Actually, not a bad idea if you want the best performance out if it.
