What don't you like about the Powder Pros? I've read many posts with people really liking them...
I run C&A's on my 2 sleds (XT's on the SnoPro and ADX's on the ZR). I like them enough not to look at other skis. They do not float the best in deep powder though (even the XT's which are 7 1/4" wide), that's the main downfall I've found with them.
The other big name is Slydog which was mentioned. I have not tried them, but many people seem to be liking them.

I've got the SlyDog trail skis and love them. They are pretty good both on and off trail. Deepest show I was in this year was about 4 feet of bottomless powder, and these skis had no problems staying on top at all. I recommend them.

I got about 1500 miles on my slydog powder hounds this season. Before these I had C&A's (As you can see in my DP). I would personally prefer the slydogs over C&A's. They float better and handle the same/better on the trail/hardpack/ice.

Yep, I really like my C&A Outlaws on my Renegade, but maybe the tips are just a bit too rigid in the powder. they tend to knife through rather than float, but they really put my sled where I want it to go and I'm only off trail maybe 20% of the time if that.

I had c&a xts loved them on the trail as they bite amazing and worked great in the mountains too. i would love to put them back on the sled but, the g/f would not be able to turn at slow speed since you need to be superman to turn at anything below 20mph. But still i love them.
If anyone wants some mine are forsale since they will never be allowed back on my sleds again.
AGAIN they are blue xt's with 6" carbides, 250usd for them fit polaris.
pm me if intrested
cheers

I've got C&A Pro's on the ElTigre, and Kimpex Plastic's on the Prowler.
Both are great Ski's but I like the Kimpex's better, because of the bigger turn up at the tip's.
Better for getting up on top of soft snow, the C&A's tend to knife under longer because of the lower tip height.
I'm planning on another set of Kimpex's for the EXT Triple.

i used to have SLP powder pros on my old indy 440 sport, personally i didn't like the performance of them, and i HATED the looks of them. i went back to stock polaris skis and like them better. i drove a 2002 pro-x 440 with slydogs, and i honestly didn't like the look of them, and they definetly better performing that stock, and floated well. but i've put c&a's on 3 of my sleds for a reason, i put c&a razors on my indy, c&a outlaws on my 700xc & SKS 700, the outlaws floated well, and turned like they were on rails, but if you werent doing 20 MPH+ it takes alot of tuning power to turn the sled. the razors have pretty much the same benifits as the outlaws but they are a little bit tamer, it is still a bit hard to turn the if your driving under 20 MPH, but no quite as hard. and i personally love the looks of c&a pro skis, and they are my favourite performing skis.
why do you think so many people run c&a pro skis?? because they rock!!!!!!!!! lol.
so for the best overall skis for an edge chassis, id pick a set of c&a pro skis, either some razors or outlaws. make sure you use a good carbide though, 6" sharpers at the least.
thats IMO....
Present sleds:
1998 Polaris Indy 500: red screens, red/black Sportech handguards with billet mounts, red C&A pro Razors with 9” sharpers, red gripper running board trim, red hyfax, billet pull handle, billet brake lever, silver front & rear bumpers, low black windshield, custom graphics, clutched (Primary: Polaris blue primary spring #7041080, 10m5 weights, sheave/belt clearance is set at .015''. Secondary clutch: 42/36 helix, SLP black driven spring), geared (dropped 1 tooth), 121" x 15" x 0.91" Camoplast/Polaris track with 96 studs, stripped warning decals, white-faced edge chassis speedometer & tachometer.(For sale).

My favorites are the simmons flexi-ski they absorb bumps on the train an stuff, but for me as a mountain rider they float real good too, plus the have a 2nd generation of flexi skis now that are wider than the original ones for better flotation.

I have a pair of powder pros on my pro-x and they are amazing skis. they float extremely well and as i ride mostly trails, they handle excellent and do not dart. I would buy another pair in a second. I have read a lot about powder pros before getting them and every seems to say they are the best for a long track edge or pro x chassis, which i would have to agree with. I have a set of C&A razors and they bit way to hard and steering effort was very hard. I even played with the front shock settings and tried to lighten the front end up a bit but they still bit way to hard.

well in crusty conditions, they tend to dig in too much and kinda gets tippy, i guess it's coz i have a short track. also they do dart alot, esp in these kinda condtions, when the snow melts and hardens, the skis like to follow tracks like a dog on meat. i've been thinking about getting those iq gripper skis. they're wide, and yea i know they're stock, but i'd like to have full control over my machine, had lotta close calls today, almost crashed a few times.

whats the -4 for? theyre the best skis for an edge chassis polaris by far, especially the outlaws. shady800x, you would love some outlaw c&a's.

Probably because skis are more-less all a matter of opinion. Just because you say the C&A's are the best does not mean that they actually are!
