Wings won!! 4-1 Tomorrow we take the series! I hate Pronger.
and on a side note. I havent watched Ovechkin (or however you spell it)much this year.. but he's a careless hockey player. I really dont like how he plays the game. He gets results but other than that.. I really hate watching him play

sounds reasonable i suppose, we will get 4 games at home, and we hardly loose at the joe louis in the playoffs, especially this deep in the playoffs, i think that we could take one in chicago and be through the next round after 6 games.

Stupid Blackhawks. Any team that kicks them out of the playoffs now goes up in my "Likeness" meter.

My big problem with the NHL is that the are so damn inconsistant(sp?) i mean they will make an interference call for the little things but holmstrom can get pounded on in front of the net without a second look.. all the ducks have going for them is that they are a very physical team.. thats their type of hockey.. I see things while I am watching the game and im like WTF?!?!? how can that not be a call??
it blows my mind sometimes...
the Redwings are a finese(sp?) team.. and not very physical.. sure they can when they have to be but if the nhl was consistant the ducks would be killing penalties all game long and wouldnt stand a chance.

Detroit is hockeytown, 17 straight years in the playoffs, I dont think any other team can say that at this point in time.
Well game 7 came and gone, we won, but I think we coulda done better, the game shoulda been over at 3-1. But did anyone watch the first period? When we killed their 5 on 3 power play, with Osgoods AMAZING save. Wow that duck musta felt dumb when he had a WIDE open net, and Osgood made him look like a fool. I cant wait for the next series, I love hockey, never played, but always love watching the sport at any level.

Same to you! But you need to understand that with young, comes something called inconsistency. The wings have been consistently good for years now. And the vets on the team are not really in this to win ANOTHER title. There just playing a game, like any other game. Certainly there is more on the line, but they dont have the nerves like the blackhawks have. It will be a good game, and as long as the Red Wings fire on all cylinders like they did the first and second period last night, we will send the hawks home with only 1 or 2 wins. Im 18, been watching hockey for as long as I can remember, and this is easily the best playoffs I have ever seen. What a year to be a hockey fan!

I watched most of that Detroit game yesterday, it was a decent game, the officiating was quite terrible though. The Wings were getting stupid penalties and the Ducks were getting away with lots of crap. Even I was glad the Wings won.
That being said I'm not too impressed with the fans in Detroit. I understand that "booing" the other team occurs in hockey but it seemed excessive.
Not very often in many other rinks do the fans boo the opposing team everytime they touch the puck. It gets very annoying after awhile. (I also was not rooting for the Ducks nor do I like the stupid Ducks, but still...)
Either way it was a shock to see Boston lose and it was nice to see Detroit win.
Every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. That means every day you see me, that's the worst day of my life.

Oh yes, Joe Louis gets a little crazy when it comes to playoff games. I knew the crowd was gonna be in it after the first quarter, there was a ton of hitting going on. The only thing I didn't like about the fans in that game was the octopus got thrown on the ice during the national anthem. So disrespectful, keep your hand over your heart, not chucking some piece slime out onto the ice. But yes, the fans can be a little crazy here. The penalties against us are nothing new, if you watch the red wings often, you will see it happens to them alot, you get use to it.

Using that justification couldn't the team with the most cup wins be called hockey town?
It was just a clever marketing campaign.
