Now on the carb, there is the choke, and another knob that looks exactly like the choke but its red. Can someone tell me what that is?

Idle screw?
I think you got the lower end of the deal, bike looks beat on. Plus bikes dont hold value very well, sleds usually go for a bit more.

That's your hot start. pull it to start it with your choke when it's cold and just that with out the choke when it's hot. Looks to be an alright bike I hope you have fun and when you get used to that one you can move up to a 450 (man's bike). Here's mine. 2001 YZ 426

Seems like I do that every time I change my tire. Now I just get a naw tube when I buy a tire just in case.
If your happy with the bike then you got a good deal.

looks like a good bike. I've got an 02'. Yes the hot start is the red knob.
Best advice on a thumper is don't try to start it without your riding boots on.

I tried to start mine in sandals the first time. It was a private seller and I wasn't planning on the purchase. Needless to say I learned my lesson

i've wore many holes through my shoes using just a regular pair of tennis shoes with the kicker. many many shoes, probably like 4 or 5 pairs ruined cause of that haha.
