I have decided that i need a tool box for my truck(in box), too much junk in the back seat(jack, straps, booster cables, lights....). I have a reg box(6ish feet), so my concern is that if i put a "Delta" style tool box, a sled wont fit. i was thinking of getting a "jockey box" at a semi shop, centering it against the front of my cab. this way my skis will fit on either side of it, and my front bumper can fit over the angled lid. what have you done, or seen? any ideas?

I have an under-rail toolbox in my F150 with the short box. I've hauled my sleds many times, just leave the tailgate down. My SnoPro with the 128" skid is about as long as I'd want to put in mine though. Any longer and I think you'd have too much out the ass end.

Have you noticed any difference with the handling?imo it seems like the weight would not be even in the bed.

What if the sled went in backwards and the skis pointed out the back and you just buttoned it down with some straps. You might be able to get the full size toolbox then.

If you do that make sure you tie the hood down good and the windshield is really low or you might have an issue. I saw a guys hood get ripped off the sled on the highway this past winter.

I have a heavy plastic delta toolbox that sits in the box. I just pull it out when ever I load the quad or sled in the box, takes about 30seconds. But I have had a short track sled in with the toolbox and just left the endgate down.

Nothing significant. Once it's strapped in, I could still drive 80mph down the highway if I wanted too without worrying about it. Most of the weight is toward the front of the sled, which is primarily over the axle.

Been there, done that also. Anything other than a short track, you will have to put the skis under the tailgate. Not something I'd do often. Here's my ZR...just barely enough room to fit it all on there backwards.

in my girlfriends truck, a 97 F150 extended cab, we fit two sleds and box in the back, all at the same time. One was a long track, too!
It was an 88 tundra, and a 87 citation, along with a fullsize rear toolbox. The sleds didn't hang out that much either
