Weird knob?

Okay so i was just taking in the greatness of my sled and noticed right by the fuel shut off valve there is a knob that has letters on it. I was wondering if this was for the timing or something. I have no idea though and any help would be great.

Pic would be nice. A knob with letters on it doesn't help much.

If its a box coming off the cdi harness. It is a ign. timing switch.
I did a search, and did find a member that had a pic posted. If this is what your talking about.

thats it^^ sorry i couldn't get pics, the sled is locked up in the vault  So anyone know what it'll run the best on for pump gas.

I always run 93 octane in my pro-x.

on the 440 proxs they have a ign timing box like shown in the pic above
1990 indy trail bored.20over, ported and polished, cluched and geared, chaincase/brakes/jackshaft from 93 xlt, headlight cover, teather, some custom painting, black skid plate, blue running board trim, fox shocks, blue/gray powermadd handguards, 2 in powermadd riser, fly bars/barpad,blue leds(underglow),1 in lug track, teather mount from a 96xcr440,blue guage bulbs, blue c&as, xtra 10 rear, and edge seat and tank.

anyone know what setting it runs best on for pump gas? It ran like ass and was hard to start when i had it out so i'm hoping that the timing knob just got ****ed up.

i would try looking both in the pro-x and 440 race sections over on hcs they could probbably help you out a bit more on this subject

TEAM 50 CAL.

prox 440 chassis water xer in the making 600 big block motor other odds and ends
2003 prox 600 ( SOLD )
rumble pack can, vforce 3 reeds, powermadd hand guards, low black windshield, 1.25 kimpex x-force, 96 woodys studs w/ double backers and tall nuts, black c&a adx's, shorty, race snowflap, 6in riser w/ protaper sno-x bars, wps mountain bar and alluminum throttle block, long grips, black xxx mod rods hood

Isnt that what the detonation prevention systems do, is retard the timing while you are running to prevent further chance of damage?

you wont screw up the electrical syatem you could pre detonate and put a hole in your piston among many other things
