I had picked up a set of lrm pipes for my 96 ultra at haydays and someone had told me i could get the tuning specs/recomondations by calling larry. Well i finaly got around to calling him and told him i was looking for the tuning specs, explained i didnt get the instructions with the pipes when i bought them and he pretty much blew me off. I dont know if i caught him in a bad mood or what but he said they are almost 13 years old, he has people calling all the time, he doesnt have the time to dig them out everytime someone calls and he told me i would have to talk to the guy i bought them from, this is right after i told him i did not have the contact info for the guy i bought them from. None the less i'm wondering if any one has the instructions for the pipes or can tell me what they have on there ultras with lrm pipes.

Here's what I would do. Go up 2 or 3 jet sizes from stock and check plugs often. I've gotten specs. from manufacturers before, they usually are conservative and you run on the rich side. Also if its cold, raise your needles a clip. Its just kind of trial and error. Just don't error with a blown engine.

Its too bad he takes that attitude. SLP has always been more than helpful when I have called them for info(yes, on used stuff.I don't buy new). If Larry doesn't want the phone calls, he should post tuning info on a website somewhere.
good luck!

Yeah i know, im gonna call him later this week and tell him i havent been able to find anything and if he's still not willing to help me i will be sure to mention to him that if he doesnt like the phone calls maybe he should publish them. I have slp pipes for another sled and have spoke with them before, they are great when it comes to customer service and product reserch, if i were ever to buy pipes new, (i buy used also) I would buy from them. But right now for the ultra i have a set of Lrm's in great condition and i'd like to use em.
yeah that was what i was thinking of for a last ditch effort. Quote originally posted by ultrastud

Once you get those pipes dialed you will love them. They make a massive difference on the ultra's.

370 main jet depend on the temp. check your plug color
clutch setting; little bit of guess, lot of try and retry, and you're gonna find what you're searching for.
Good Luck buddy!!!
