I blew the motor twice on my RMK this year (dealers fault)...I sold it and am currently looking for a new sled. If you had 4-6 grand what would you buy?

6 grand will do you pretty well. As said before, I have seen multiple 06/07 IQs for just over 4 grand. Craigslist will have a ton of em, just look around a bit you will find something.
Rev renegades are pretty decent sleds from what I've heard as well.
You can definitely do better than an older Firecat or Thundercat though.

Quote originally posted by cameron22 dont get a ski doo or a yamaha they are crap Gotta love the ignorant comments on public forums! Like some people will say...they are all crap, just pick a color! All makes have hits and misses. Just do your homework before you make your final decision. I'm partial to Cat, so I'd probably look for a newer F7 EFI SnoPro (or an RMK Dragon for deeper snow), as far as production sleds go anyway. If I had that money, I'd buy my sled all over again (with a few modifications I have since experienced), but I'm a fan of the race chassis sleds.

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion.

Id go with a Fusion, IQ or a Switchback. The reasons for this are because even in stock form they are pretty impressive, because repair parts are fairly inexpensive and readily available and because theres a wide array of aftermarket go-fast parts available for those sleds.

I am open to all brands, just so happened that we have bought all poos. I want a short track again, the snow isn't very plentiful around here. Only two things besides that is a good suspension and fuel injection.
I test drove a dragon, and loved the pull on it. It was a 2009 and i realized it wasn't worth it for the amount of riding i get in. Race iq's i know are risky. The ski doo xrs and renegades are on the list as well.
I'm not looking to do much if anything aftermarket to this sled so i want something that tugs on your arms and handles a lot bone stock.
thanks for the input...keep em coming

If you want something that can handle a lot stock, I'd go with an XRS or a Pro-X. They should both have the extra support structures to handle some serious punishment.

I would get an 07 Dragon 700.. Then with the leftover money you could mod it out or add whatever you wish to make it different than everyone else who has one.
