I was rather shocked to see this on erick's facebook status yesterday, a few posts underneath it was Richard's status stating that he was supposed to start his new job tomorrow...

I met him a few time here at UND when I was in Mechanical Engineering. He sold me some parts for my sled a few years back and was a great guy to talk to. I am glad I was fortunate enough to have met him. My thoughts go out to his friends and family.

I can only please one person per day, today is not your day... Tomorrow doesn't look good either...

I went thru and was reading some his past posts (just as we all did when ripn left us). I get a very unerving feeling when reading some of the things that suggest there is a greater power at hand that we are all unaware of.

I get the same feeling, very very weird reading what you had linked to one of his posts.

I've emailed those of you have replied...if it wasn't in the last couple of minutes. Anyways, here is what I have to say...

A few of you mentioned you would like to contribute to the family in some way, as in a card. I am going to the funeral at 10:30 AM this Thursday in Middle River, MN. I will be bringing a card for the family and want to give you the opportunity to get your name in the card. So, if you would like your name in the card please let me know. Send me your full name, username, city, and state. I would like to compile a list for his family to let him know about all the people thinking about him and his family in this time of need. I will also include the link to the topic so they can view your detailed comments and condolences.

Furthermore; because some of you expressed concern that you'd like to donate to the family, I've made it easy. I will be donating (a yet to be decided amount of money) from the website to the family. If you want in, you can simply send me whatever you like via PayPal. Follow the following link. You will need to copy and paste the PayPal link into your browser window. If that still doesn't work, simply paypal your donation to "erick@snowmobilefanatics.com" and I'll get it all the same.

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=6168207

I will write a check for the amount I donate and the total of all the donations I receive from others of the site and let you know how much it was, etc. If you want to send a card of your own or feel you want to send something directly to the family instead of going through me, please contact "partyrevolution" on the site via PM. He has the information you'll need.

Please do not respond directly to me in this topic if you want your name included. Instead, send me a PM or email.

Rest in peace Richard, you will be missed by the sf community. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Owning a race sled is like having a totally hot girlfriend..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!

My condolences to Richards family and friends. At 24 it seems too soon for him to go, but we'll remember him in our prayers and also ask him to watch over us on the trails.

I didn't really know him either like some here. But all I can say is that totally blows something awful. Poor fella earned his way through school and didn't get to start his new life. This just reminds me of a good buddy who passed away in 2005. He crashed his motorcycle in Canada. We used to do all of our atv and dirt bike riding together. First funeral I've been to and I hope it's the last for quite a while. My younger brothers CR I have a pic of here hasn't left the shed since.

ANYWAY, this isn't about me. If you want me to add my name even though I never knew him I can give it to you.

And to Richard: Enjoy all the fresh powder up there buddy! Show the big man your skills up there! :)

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!
