I have been wanting to extend my gen2 rmk 700 with a 136 track to 159" with either a rail extension or a new skid.

What would be the better option. Im a pretty aggressive mountain rider.

136 to 159 is a pretty big jump for a rail extension.
It can be done, but I'd think that using longer rails and putting it together that way would be better.

Tracks USA sells the kit for it and its only 400 bucks for the track, the rail extensions, and the tunnel extension.

Is there anyway to bolt the extension on the ride it a bit to let it settle then weld the rail extensions in place for extra strength? I can weld aluminum so im just wondering if that would be an idea worth considering.

Ya, it can be done.
Be careful though, it's only cast aluminum.

I know they do the 136 to 159 set ups all the time, and normally I'd think that would be just fine.
Probably is in your case as well.
It's just that you said you are an aggressive rider, and the picture in my head was landing a jump onto the tips of the skid.

Yeah, thats my concern too. I dont do that except maybe once or twice a season on accident.

well you see, your best bet would be to get an entire new skid so that you can sell me your old one.

I'm not just saying that because I want your skid, but that is a huge jump for almost any rider, especially an aggressive rider, plus depending on how big you are, that landing on the tips just once or twice a season could have you replacing it anyways.
