I'm hoping to put the paint on my Renegade that I wanted to do last year. I want to look into upgrading to X-package shocks also and maybe a silencer.

Finishing hacking the EFI, then getting my 800 trip/trip installed in FrankenStorm III..

I'm getting married this Friday (the 3rd) and it's followed by my annual 4th of July weekend-long shindig, so I've been a little busy lately. But time should free up a bit beginning next week.

I mentioned wanting to upgrade my shocks to X-package quality...
Are there some good after mkt options that would save me some cash. Is buying used not a good idea?

Mine's getting close to being done.

Front shocks are being rebuilt. Just need a set of plastic skis, possibly a gear change and some clutching.

Here's the state of my sled...

I pulled the rear skid awhile ago to replace some broken parts. Needs a couple new idlers...hyfax...etc. I then decided to pull the a-arms and spindles. I am in the slow process of stripping the paint, and will send them out to Northwoods Powdercoating (aka Greasemonkey here on the forum) to get powdercoated black. I also have a list full of various parts to order before it all gets back together.

I also spent many, many hours fully polishing the tunnel early this spring. It's not quite perfect, but it's good enough for now...
Polished tunnel - almost there...

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!

Well, I broke through some thin ice back on March 8th, and have yet to get it back, so once i get it back I'll be tearing it apart, especially the motor, as soon as it is running
~ newer track, 1" or 1.25" paddle
~ 8 inch riser
~ REV seat conversion
~ tunnel supports
~ C&As maybe
~ black headlight covers
~ louder can...maybe
~ bit of paint and decals here and there
~ and possible better skid, and piggyback front shocks

I'm gonna try and buy almost all used, or just deals.

Couple before pics

So your sled has been under water since march 8th? You are going to have a big project in front of you with the engine and electrical.

True that...

Start by taking every thing apart that comes apart, and then replace every moving and every electrical part.

Well, for me, I just sold my 2003 Polaris Pro-X 600 mod to buy a new laptop(manditory), golf clubs(were long needed) and a ATV to ride to and from work every day I work(almost all week). Then any time after late september i will be possibly looking for a polaris IQ 600, probably 2007, as theyre really the only Iq's available in my price range. But i may alos take another road and buy a boat and buy an edge chassis 600 or 700 and mod it (mostly cosmetic, as i already have most of the motor mods i would do from what i kept off the Pro-X).

knpow it seems pointless to buy a Pro-X, never drive in it snow, put a bunch of mods on it, then sell it. but theyre are many reasons.

so really my plans are to sell my Indy 500 and buy another sled....

Present sleds:

1998 Polaris Indy 500: red screens, red/black Sportech handguards with billet mounts, red C&A pro Razors with 9” sharpers, red gripper running board trim, red hyfax, billet pull handle, billet brake lever, silver front & rear bumpers, low black windshield, custom graphics, clutched (Primary: Polaris blue primary spring #7041080, 10m5 weights, sheave/belt clearance is set at .015''. Secondary clutch: 42/36 helix, SLP black driven spring), geared (dropped 1 tooth), 121" x 15" x 0.91" Camoplast/Polaris track with 96 studs, stripped warning decals, white-faced edge chassis speedometer & tachometer.(For sale).

Owning a race sled is like having a totally hot girlfriend..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!

I've got alittle bit to do to almost all of my sleds in my signiture. Gotta switcha stator into the 96 formula 600, switch a track into the 96 Maxh Z 780, and restore the 88 and 87. Plus keep getting more sleds. Looking at an XCR for 100 bucks, gonna talk the guy down......
