20? years ago this was parked in the weeds at my grandpas house. My gramps has since passed on and my dad and his brother own the land/house. My dad just offered me the car to restore. It was given to my brother years back but he hasn't touched it so now it was offered to me. All I know is that is has no motor or transmission.
It could look like these two that I love
I was also told I could have a 73? polaris 500 free air triple (TX special)that has been sitting outside for 15-20 years? I didni't post pictures of that because I have posted those before.
What do you guys think. It is 3.5 hrs away from me (Back home)

That look's like a 10 year project......if you have the time ,money and knowledge I say go for it! My 70 Monte carlo SS I restored took 7 years and around $15,000 to restore it and almost a marriage!

I do not know anything else about the car yet or its condition. I just have these pictures that I took last year when I was there on my motorcycle. I didn't walk around the car. I am going there next weekend. I will yank it out and take additional pictures. I am not affraid to tear the body off a car and start with the frame up. I like to say I built stuff.. not bought it the way it was. A 57 is not my dream car.. but I like them still (with a good motor in it!) I would pick up that TX right away. As for the car it looks like a big and spendy project, but could be done. I bet it would sell pretty good in its current state, then maybe find one a little nicer?

anything can be fixed, but whats going to nickel and dime you to death is finding good used or buying new replacement moldings, interior, and other misc. parts like that.
You would be better off finding a roller at half the price, then what you'd have into that.
If you dont mind a project that big and taking years to collect parts. Then go for it Go over the frame really good.
I've seen alot of people go broke trying to complete projects like that in in a year or two. There's been plenty of restores that have had to sit at a family bodyshop, because people dont relize the cost of the little parts.

As beautiful as the car is, the TX is all ready to go! A project of that magnitude takes time and alot of coin. Really it comes down to what the car would mean to you.

Go get that car on a trailer, and take a leisurely ride back home with it, stopping at every rest area along the way. I'm betting you get offers for it that tell you what it's worth.

If I take the car and start working on it, it will not be stock lol. It will be whatever I can to make it nice and road worthy so I think that will bring down the costs a ton. I am not afraid to use seats out of something else, make my own interior.. and what not. I won't worry about it till I yank it out of the weeds next weekend. I will take pictures. The TX is far from ready to go haha.. here are pictures of that. Neat to see this older post and what my bike used to look like. http://www.snowmobilefanatics.com/forum/...ost=752087I know nothing about restoring an old polaris. I bet parts are impossible.

Get the TX for sure!!! Learn as you go.
For the Chev., pull it out and look at it really good. Do I hear Resto-mod???? Cool!! Just remember, whatever you think it's going to cost to fix up, add at least half of that figure to that. If you think $10,000, it's prob. gonna be more like $15,000. I know this from personal experience and have seen a lot of buddys sell their projects because of money stuck into it. Even things like moulding clips can get pretty spendy.

I'd want to inspect the body a little more to see how solid (or not) it is. I might suggest that if you do take it up as a project... keep the vise grip steering wheel!
1999 Saab 9-3 5dr 2.0T 5spd with a long list of mods planned...
1998 Polaris XC 700 reverse, 96 studs... still stock...
2008 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI winshield, Tool Box, Winch and Aluminum wheels...
1995 dodge ram 2500 cummins turbo diesel, 335000 miles.
For Sale!
-1954 ford f 100 w/ a 383 stroker, turbo 400 tranny, camaro front clip

It's a 57 Chevy 2 door, that alone makes it worth something. I would take it and if nothing else sell it to somebody who will fix it, it deserves better than to be sitting like that. Is it a Bel-Air, 210 or 150? I can see old outlines of bel-air trim.

^ Good question. I read online about 210 and 150. What is the difference? Is one more valuable?

It' a 210 or Bel-Air. If there is stainless trim around the door windows, etc. then it's a Bel-air. The 210's don't have the stainless around the windows along with some other things. A 1957 150 has 1955 side trim on the quarters.

To me it would be worth the resto on it, or mod-resto. Two door '57 are getting harder and harder to find and lots of guys really like them, I'd be willing to take the time needed to build it up and save money in between for a project like that just to have the car never mind what it would be worth to someone else interested in it.

I think you already know my opinion on the TX. I can't believe it isn't in your garage already. You'll need to take a closer look at the '57. There's a lot of work there, but it's probably restorable. Looks like somebody has stolen a lot of the trim and such.
