What exactly makes this sled a "mod"? Is it the stripped decals or the blue headlight cover?

what makes it a mod is that almost everthing on it is different like, pipe, handlebars, head, track and was raced for 2 years

Sorry to say but those things you listed DO NOT make it a mod sled. Is the stock weight of it 420lbs? If not how did you get it down to that weight because I see no lightweight parts on it at all.

I have a hard time believing it weighs in at 435lbs stock. Got any proof to back that up? And if it does you lost 15lbs by not adding a single light weight part? Let's agree on this, it is not a "mod" sled, it is a stock sled with bolt on performance parts, stripped decals and colored accessories. Your sled my friend is a long way from a "mod" sled.

we've had this argument over and over. almost as much as twins vs triples...

BUT.............. Sorry, but that is FAR from a mod... Should make a CYI mod class of sleds... then we all can be special and say we have mod sleds. That's what the new America is all about right? that's what they are teaching you guys in school... we are all unique and special.. and if someone putting a blue light cover on their sled wants to say that classifies his sled as a mod compared to someone putting a triple into a custom made light weight chassis, then hell it must be a MOD *Disclaimer* There ya go obama finally said we are all equal *End disclaimer*

question....do you guys remember the last time you actually answered someones question when their sled isnt a dragon or mountain cat or some fancy brand new contraption? seriously its worse than grade school! im surprised no one brought up something about pipes yet.... last night i went and searched through a bunch of topics regarding people asking simple questions about their sleds, if theyre new and its something smaller than a 600 or older than 08 all you do is rip on the poor guy and hes learned absolutely nothing!

when i say you i mean majority of the population, theres few and far between who will actually answer the question...to those thankyou its very much appreciated. But the rest of you need to grow up!!!!!!

oh and 440 racman, if you go buy some aluminam strips and polish them yourself its very cheap and looks great almost anywhere you put them :D i have some covering my trailing arms and i wrapped them all the all the way around so it looks like i have polished alum trail arms....looks expensive but only cost 20 bucks total, i also put those strips on both sides of the body where the hood and bellypan meet

I will continue to call out anyone who calls a sled with stripped decals, colored accessories and bolt ons a "mod" sled and I have explained why before, because it is an embarrassment to people like Erick and I who have actually built mod sleds. I have spent alot of time building a real mod sled and what someone strips some decals, and throws on some colored accessories and bolt ons and call it a "mod" it pisses me off.

no offense to erick or you but it doesnt take much talent to build up a sled when the front and rear suspension is "just move this hole or that hole a few inches this way or that way" or the cylinders are psi or a name brand bolt on or "cmx" (crazy mountain xtreme) who also make custom parts THAT ARE ALREADY MADE FOR YOUR MAKE AND MODEL..... but i built up a 1976 tx 440, i put in an ifs front suspension, 152" arctic cat skid and a xcr 600 engine in which not one of them was a bolt on especailly the ifs but the main point is MOD means anything not stock, short for modification as much as you may not like it... if someone put on a blue headlight sheild or a cobra windshield or even just strips the decals off its still modified in some way shape or form.

just as i built my hotrod.. it makes 675 horse and 620 torque but i hate the kids that think their rice burners are all that cuz they put a wing on it that belongs to a 747 jet airliner and think its fast but i dont get pissed about it and complain.....i just race them and blow their doors off. but as i recall 440raceman said nothing about his sled being a modsled his topic said 440 mod but if hes anything like me he probably meant 440 mod as in what kind of mods could i do to it? which i got my a** chewed for! so i guess what im really trying to say is QUIT WHINING AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, next time someone says they have a mod sled say they got a 440 and you have a 700 race them and see what happens...things arent always what they seem bud :P

Well little hot rodder, not to chew your ass off but you just answered your own question with your own stupidity. Well you just talked about rice burners and your DAD'S hot rod that makes 675HP and seeing how you are bashing big CC sleds lets get some things straight. Most of those RICE Burners don't have motors that exceed a v6(most are 4 bangers) or 3.0L or 180 Cubic inches in displacement. So lets say Daddy's hot rod is built with real American Muscle and is most likely built on lets say a small block with a displacement of about 350 C.I. Well son your daddy's hot rod already has about 160 more cubic inches displacement on the average ricer out there. And you think that you can build 600 HP let alone 300HP off 4 cylinders with that small of displacement cheap? well your wrong because there is No replacement for displacement. I can tell you right now and I don't care what anyone on here has to say the lightweight 440's might kill a 700 tripple off the line just like a ricer v.s. a true american muscle car but when those tripples get off the line and hook up it'll sink the little 440 Just like the little small block will kill the rice burner once the secondaries open up. Oh and might I add that the tripple's will do that Stock. So you better go find a big motor for that sled or put some serious gogo juice in it this summer or you'll be called the little Ricer who could for as long as you argue.
