They just need to get their hippie hands on a bran effin' new Husqvarna, then they will be right as rain.
In their mission statement (the "About" section) they state that they condone monkeywrenching and will or do use it as one of their tools to achieve their goals. Unless I'm mistaken I think the term monkeywrenching involves sabotaging of equipment, which i would think could get someone hurt!

I like the part about burnt forests. If they were actually in tune with nature they would realize all the forests in the country are way over grown from not burning and need a good fire to wipe them out to get healthy again.

You are correct, and it has hurt quite a few people.
It was far more widely used in the 70s, but the term and intent are definately the same.

You are correct, to a point.
While the forests DO need this, most can not be allowed to burn because of the close proximity to cities and all.
So that leaves the other option.
Put people to work clearing out the dead under growth, dead standing trees, and the unhealthy parts in general.
Basically we need to now do the job that nature intended fire to do.
Everybody wins then,
The forests are much more healthy for generations to come and no longer over run and killed out by WAY too many bugs that now live in the dead crap that we are not allowed to clean out.
It gives some people jobs, and the materiels that they clear out can be sold as mulch, refined into paper products and all that stuff, putting the lumber companies back to work.
It's not rocket science.
The problem is that common scence only confuses the govt types, and the liberals in particular.

Agreed. Nature will run it course. When everything is ripe it needs to be harvested, or burnt. Noone wants either to happen. I live in an urban interface where a wildfire would reek havoc but nothing is being done besides putting it out as quick as possible and then rehab the land to try to prevent mudslides and such.
If you want to bring this country to its knees, go and start fires starting in AZ about May and slowly work your way north, ending by the Canadian border in August. Or just go light up the Rocky Mountains all at once in July and call it good.
I work with the USFS all summer, and they have the harvest or burn concept down but it is the general public that will not let them do it....
