I am trying to fix a broken speedometer on a Polaris sled i have. The stub tha goes into the drive shaft sheared off. I know that means the bearing is going. The bearing has already been replaced. So, how do i get the broken stub out of the drive shaft? ....thanks!!!

Try a small amount of epoxy like "cold weld" on the end of a small bolt or screwdriver let it set for a few minutes and pull it out. That worked on my 2000 XC

I had to drill a small hole next to where the 2 inch "speedo driveshaft" goes into the shaft, put a screw in the hole and pulled the insert out with a vice-grips. Installed a new insert and "speedo driveshaft" together.

Swing it around your head like a dead cat!!

sorry, I'll go away now..........

All I ever did was pick and pick and pick at it and usually get them. Ive had a few that never came out though. The screw trick sometimes works too, where you get the smallest screw you can find and try to thread it in, then pull the little effer out.

Good luck.

Were you swinging it by the tail or by whats left of the head? Cause it makes a difference.

I like to use the tail. More "stuff" comes out that way!!
