I get what you mean. But I meant the president is getting ripped on so much for the economy and its hard
for him. A lot of people believe what the press say
Yes they do get ripped but they absolutely bask in the glory when things go right!! Gotta take the heat if you take the glory.
But I'm with you. The job is not appealing to me at all!!

Obama's "stimulus" plan was a failure in design. It did absolutely NOTHING to stimulate the economy NOW. That is why only 25% of the money has been spent. The dummycrats could not come up with a plan to fund worthwhile programs NOW. So they pushed off spending the money over a couple years to fund their pet projects.
At least the ripofflican president gave the money directly to the comsumer. It wasn't the best plan either but at least we the people had a say in how it was spent!!!!!
Obama'a stimulus plan....LMFAO......I memory serves me right.....Bush started the 787 billion dollar stimulus plan, And the Auto bailouts and the bank bailouts......Just once I would love for the repuke's to look at both side's of the card!
No rock, Bush started the TARP prgram and then ILLEGALLY used TARP money to keep GM an Chryster afloat until Nobama took office, Bush spent 350 billion and left the other half for Nobama to spend...This whole Trillion dollar stimulus plan was 100% Nobamas from the start!!!

NO WAY. He was just lucky enough to be sitting on the throne when the wierdest business cycle in the history of our country came around! Preseidents take way too much credit for the good times.
Most of his original ideas were either shot down by Congress or modified. I will give the man credit. At least he had some concrete idea of what he wanted. He put it out there and did fight for it. Better than Obama's "give me health care reform by the August recess"

That is why it was known as the wierdest business cycle in history. Never before did economic growth last so long. Normally a business cycle goes up for a couple-3 years followed by a mild recession. I could probably make the argument that the wierdness is still going on. This recession is the deepest in nearly one hundred years. If we slide any deeper or it lasts longer, economists might reclassify this as a depression.
All I'm saying is that preseidents do not influence the economy as much as people think. Congress has more influence than a president as they create the laws and regulatory agencies. The prseident is nothing more than a rubber stamp at times. Most are gutless when it comes to vetoing a bad bill. And that is because Congress attached something he wanted to sweeten the deal. And the ultimate influence is the Federal Reserve. It is SUPPOSED to be above politics. It's only job is to regulate monetary policy to influence inflationary/deflationary pressures.
I could go on but I'll get off my soap box now.

Its funny that at the height of the economic boom there where people who actually considered themselves economists saying that we had learned to become recession proof.
I don't find this deep depression on the weird side......what goes up, must come down. When you climb that high you have a long way to fall.

You are 100 % right rock!!
And nathan it doesn't matter that only 25% of the money has been spent, you have to look at where the other 75% is GOING TO BE SPENT!! Food stamps and extended unemployment benifits ARE NOT going to stimulate ANYTHING!!!!
are u stupid ?? People that lost there jobs need that stimulus money to pay for there homes, cars, food etc.
and yes alot of the money is going to be spent on unemployment but I dont understand how that isnt going to stimulate our economy, so you are saying youd rather watch those people lose there homes go into foreclosure, cars get repo and there kids not EAT.
Then the banks loss MORE money and then the banks cant give out money unless you got a 750 credit score. Sorta how it is right now??? And guess what since that Stimulus package went through the DOW has gone up 1,000+ pts and Obama said it could take a year or more to see that stimulus package turn the economy around... its been 6 months so please shutup.
and 75% going to unemployment you make that number up in your head? you must be joking or are u just that stupid?
And polarisfreak08 just shutup you say some stupid ass ****, you must be BRP's twin
Well if BUSHs stimulus plan fails. I dont want anyone saying its OBAMAs fault all he did was add 200 million to BUSHs
proposed plan.

What's our choice in politacal parties.......tax and spend liberal's or the borrow and spend repug's....in my hoest opinion I think they all suck and are doing everything in their power to destroy America.
So much for no tax increases on the middle class!

Remember when Bush the Elder said the same thing? And then raised taxes?
We will see how committed Mr. Obama is to health care refore. Raising taxes could well be political suicide.

^^^^ You're entitled to your opinions...but so am I
Either show support for OUR president or get the hell out of the country. We're allow to disagree with the man in charge, in fact that is encouraged, but you're going way to far for my taste with the name calling.
Careful who you piss off around here....

Polarisfreak, one more use of that word and I will ban you. There is no need for such, regardless of your opinion. Also your first warning for the exact same thing was a clue that we didn't appreciate it, then doing it again, in the same topic, about two hours apart means you have zero respect for those who make this site available to you, therefore you don't seem to want to be a part of it.
Every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. That means every day you see me, that's the worst day of my life.
