i would start with cluching and geaing it,then i really dont consider it a mod but put some picks in the track for some better traction, also check out Clouse2411s profile because he did a lot of mods to his indy

The extra 10 is one of polaris's suspensions. It came factory on certain models. People swap the extra 10 in for a better ride. You do have to drill new holes to place the extra 10 in your tunnel. Which someone on here can give you the measurements.

I went with a F.A.S.T M10 suspension on my indy xlt. It's a aftermarket upgrade suspension, but does cost more. You can find the m10 for $300-$500 used with Polaris mounting brackets. The M10 is alot heavier, but a nice ride.

Thanks. Is there a way to raise it up a bit? i dont like how low it is. unless raising it doesnt have any benefits.. and where do i go to find a lower profile windshield? and how much work is raising the handlebars? whats the process? lol im full of questions.

well since your from ontario i would suggest heading down to royal distributing in guelph.they will have a low widsheild, risers and skis.the risers are fairly simple if you do a little bit of rise like 1-3" its just mostly cutting zip ties and removing the old bolts and putting in the riser block.but if you go more then 3"'s you will need extensions for the brake and throttle cable withc can be a bit more money and alittle more complicated to put in

holy crap man, your headlight is pointing straight down at your skis!! you need to seriously consider installing xtra10 or even xtra12 in the front of your sled so it will compensate for the M10 in back. right now you got your ass end up way high and it looks ridiculous

1999 Polaris XC 500
-holeshot skid plate
-fox reservoir front track shock
-fox front shocks
-xenon low-beam bulb (very helpful at night)

Just add gas and snow!

Thats the way an M10 sits when unloaded. It will sag 3-4" when he sits on the sled.

Tug, i have no idea wtf you said lol. If you want an 'improved' ride, even just get fox shocks for the front, you can get them new without springs for about $80.00 a piece from babbits online or find them used for about $100 a pair(With springs) from one of us. I have a set that i'm selling i think. As far as mods to make it 'look' better. I'd get a pair of RSI bars for $35.00 a pair of handguards for $60.00 and a pair of powermadd, or RSI risers for another $40.00 add that with the fox shocks, and maybe have your seat re-upholstered, build it up some to compensate for the bar rise(I'll be running 5-7 on my evolved) so i'm going to add 4 inches or so of foam so it's not like i'm riding a chopper with some ape hangers. Another option you could do is get an edge gas tank/seat for around $150.00 for the pair, that's the best 'seat' mod on a budget i think. But again, i'm a complete noob to sleds. I personally believe in function over form. First things i'd do would be a port job/clutch/pipes, or suspension related stuff like new shocks xtra10 swap, 136" track, or even just swap out the OEM base model shocks for the fox shocks will make a world of difference, plus they're rebuildable.

Just my .02 Take it with a grain or two of salt
