Lately i've been looking at some different quads, and it seems like the predators are some of the cheapest ones, I know that a lot are older, but what makes other quads more expensive/better. I have one in my area for about $2000 seems like a good deal to me. here's the link. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/rvs/12...20699.html

Reverse Gear, More trail oriented vs the other quads are race oriented. Shock valving, Motor tuning, R&D...
list can go on for quite some time why the others are more expensive. if it were me.. the yfz is the quad i would get.

Polaris quads are not even worth buying they have a crap engine in them, there suspension is horrible I rode one once in a knocked down corn field and my back killed me for about a week If I was going to buy a quad I would buy one from any other company than polaris because they are not great, I like polaris sleds but when they threw liberty engines in them they sucked in my mind those old domestic twins with or without the reeds were the best engine polaris ever had. The best quad you can buy is a can-am yamaha is a good quad to buy to

i'm pretty sure that some of the quads have the fuji or "older" motor in them. And the new outlaws have KTM which is definately a good motor. Suspension wise, it was probably just setup wrong for you.

I have spent some time on a predator 500 and outlaw 525. Both have good power and suspension,I thought the predators transmission felt a little loose but it could have just been getting wore. Neither have ever had engine problems to date. If it is in good shape I would not be scared to buy that one.

Very good quads friend that races just sold his 500 pred and got a sponsor one from monster energy kawasaki 500. I thought it might be his lol. Heard they are mainly bulletproof.

Yea, I pretty much agree with the quads being pretty bullet proof. but this one looks like the front right rim is flat on the bottom. or is that just me?

I bought an 05 Predator new in 05 and it rocked.
The suspension was good, it worked well with no issues.
I did have to do 2 small things to set it up for the type of riding I do.
1 was to gear it down 1 tooth on the front sprocket as I do mostly woods riding and stock it's geared more for desert, and the other was to throw on a set of nerf bars because I don't like stuff ripping my feet off the pegs.
Nothing major though. All in all, it was a great machine that I wish I'd have kept.
Oh ya,
They did not have reverse on them until 05,
so that might be something to keep in mind if that's important to you.

Looks to me like a flat spot on the rim too.
It's not all that uncommon, but if it is a flat spot, it pretty much needs replaced.

I dont think he asked what kind you would get? Like there is a huge thing called money which not everyone has. its a big difference between $2000 and $6000. Some people cant really "choose" they go with what they can afford.
