I was looking at air filters to replace my air box and came across these on k&n's website. Look pretty cool, and like they would work almost perfectly.
I have H.A.C. though, so would that be a problem if i took my airbox out?
heres the url:

Im pretty sure you're better off going with some sort of high flow airbox/mod like from SLP, rather than running k&n filters. The k&n filters just end up sucking more hot air from under the hood, might even lose power.

I agree, hot air is not good, unless you really open up your cab to breath in some fresh air you are wasting your money, the air box gives you that
But your HAC will be fine, you will just need to mount it solid
Fix it till its broke!

Third that...
Air boxes take cold air from outside to feed the engine with, this makes the engine breathe a lot better, put out more horsepower, and stay cooler.
Air filters recycle the heat under your hood.

also when u take away the factory air box there is a factory set frequency that runs through the motor and out the pipe that effects the performance. so id stay away from the k&n's unless you were planning on running a higher comp. and some after market pipes then maybe lol
if your not scared when its pinned its not fast enough

^^^im not going to use k&ns, that idea went out the window awhile ago, but the only thing that you would need to do if you replaced or gutted the stock airbox is adjust the jetting, if that. The back pressure that is needed all comes from the exhaust system.
