Everyone has useless information stored away somewhere in their noggin, whats a random fact that you know?

I know that the interest weights one ten billionth of an ounce due to the electrons flowing.

Uranus has seasons up to twenty plus years.

The moon is moving away from the earth at a rate of 3 cm a year.

When a semi idles it burns 1 gallon of diesel per hour which equates to 6 miles of driving (not sure how random that one is)

I could probably go on and on but time to hear others.

Yes it is, and it hurts like hell.

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound and energy to heat one cup of coffee. (Hardly seems worth it.)

If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb. (Now that's more like it!)

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet. (O.M.G.!)

A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes. (In my next life, I want to be a pig.)

A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. (Creepy.)

(I'm still not over the pig.)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour (Do not try this at home........maybe at work.)

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off. ("Honey, I'm home. What the......?!")

The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field. (30 minutes... lucky pig... can you imagine??)

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds. (What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)

Some lions mate over 50 times a day. (I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)

Butterflies taste with their feet. (Something I always wanted to know.)

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue. (Hmmmmmm........)

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people. (If you're ambidextrious, do you split the difference?)

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump. (OK, so that would be a good thing....)

A cat's urine glows under a black light. (I wonder who was paid to figure that out?)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain. (I know some people like that.)

Starfish have no brains. (I know some people like that too.)

Polar bears are left-handed. (If they switch, they'll live a lot longer.)

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure. (What about that pig??)

Did you know a pig is as smart as a 5 year old child

When a sheep and a goat mate it is called a geep

I will think of some more later

In Baltimore, Maryland, it is not legal to take a lion to the movies. (i cant help but wonder how that came about)
In Singapore, it is illegal to sell or own chewing gum. (why)
In Natoma, Kansas, it's illegal to throw knives at men wearing striped suits. (what about the rest of them)
It's illegal to slurp soup in New Jersey.
Among the Abipone people of Paraguay, individuals who abstain from alcohol are thought to be "cowardly, degenerate and stupid."
Uruguay intoxication is a legal excuse for having an accident while driving.(what why)
A polar bear's skin is black. Its fur is not white, but actually clear. (that makes no since)
Although bourbon is Kentucky's leading export and its production directly employs thousands of people, it is illegal to buy the product in the very counties in which it is produced. They are all, to this day, still dry. (that is crap)

when in doubt throttle it out

While flying at mach 3 the SR-71 Blackbird would expand @ 6" in length. It would leak fuel on the ground from joints in the skin being engineered to expand, then it would stop when it hit those insane speeds. Everything would tighten up when it got some heat on its skin from wind friction.

Damn things leaked more than just fuel. They made a mess where ever we parked em. Sort of like the old Harleys-always marking their territory. LOL

sorry, I know that was off the topic.

Still a beautiful plane. And for being built in the 60's, some of the equipment on board is still classified. So are the actual top speeds. They say mach 3? It's actually WAY over mach 3.5....

Yeah, I was in the Air Force. Not many came to my base but yeah to think that something that was design in the late 50's and built in the 60's would have been flying routinely until about the 90's that was awesome. I think they published something like 3.2 and that was only because it was at an open trial.
