Boyfriend is thinking of selling his 1998 Suzuki RM250 for a 1997 Yamaha VMax 700...
What do you think? Yay, or nay..? And why...

My buddy is selling his with 7k on it for 1200, that bike is probably worth around the same, most 125's don't loose much value after 1k unless there older or need work, it would be a fair trade.

The yamaha is reliable, dont expect it to handle huge whoops, or much bumps for that matter, yamaha never got the suspension part of sleds right until recently. Should be a strong runner, leave it stock, yamaha runs best that way.

its ok, not the best suspension but that can be fixed with an m-10

Owning a race sled is like having a totally hot girlfriend..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!

kid you have no idea what your talking about so stop. he has a suzuki motorcross duh, and is debating is he should sell it to get a sled. i hardly think that the 700 triple will be better on gas then lets say a 500 fan.

If both are in the same condition then it sounds like a fare trade for both parties. The only difference under the hood of that Vmax SX and a SXR is heated carbs. It’s pretty easy to put a Polaris Edge rear skid under that sled and put SXR front suspension on it. Those Red Head triples can go more than 10k miles stock. That’s just my 2cents
