they are meant for completely different riding styles. the mountain cat is for the mountains, and the zrt is more of a fast paced trail or lake bomber.

empty a bag of skittles in the toilet and flush it;s like watching a 5 second nascar race

^exactly, all depends on your riding style. Lake racer/trail rider the ZRT will be great, more off trail/jumping playing around then the mountain one would have my vote.

The 136in will help but it will still be pretty heavy for a lot of powder. I had a 96 700 wildcat that came stock 136''. I thought it would be pretty good in powder but it sucked, it was just too heavy. My dads 500 powder special 136'' could outclimb it with the same track. That wildcat could really haul ass though.

I guess personally I would have choose the M cat, its so much lighter and easier to handle, but if you like speed im sure that zrt will be a blast.

Definitely the mountain Cat. Better suspension, 7 years newer, overall a better sled in my opinion. The 96 zrt is very fast on the lake but dam you will be sore after riding a full day through some bumps. What size mountain Cat?? The ZRT is faster in a straight line that's for sure. What type of riding do you do??
