I just purchased a bar pad for my fourwheeler and it is a standard 7/8 pad. The part of the bar that this goes on is about half that. What could I do to fill the gap so the pad stays in its place? I thought of using friction tape but if you have any ideas please feel free to post them.
I know that it wasn't the smartest idea but they don't make pads for this size of bar.
Thanks so much.

Does the pad kind of look like this?
Error: File 157155 doesn't exist in gallery!
If so, you shouldn't have to worry about it falling off or anything. It's supposed to have the extra space on the sides like that.

What kind of bars do you have? Do the handlebars look like the ones in that picture? If so, I don't think its gonna work. You need straight bars like these if you want a pad like that.

Here's how it looks with the original pad;
 The Quad
So you see where it has to go? It is the right length, just gotta get that bar thicker.
The pad looks similiar to Dekk85's, but says Suzuki.

Ok so here is what I did. You know those pipe huggers that go around plumbing in a houst? I cut slits in it until it was the diameter we wanted then I simply wrapped it tight with friction tape. Looks and works perfect!
Thanks for all your help!

Buy a water noodle at Wal Mart for 2 bucks. Cut to size. slice it down the middle, wrap around bar and zip tie.
