"would jesus carry a gun"
"no, because they didn't have them. He would probably carry a sword but he was so powerful he didn't need to"
i think this is hilarious

All I can say is, why are reporters offering an opinion?
95 - Storm 800 - Modded - AKA: FrankenStorm - Totalled near 100mph at Tug Hill!
96 - XLT/SP with Storm 800 trip/trip and now EFI - FrankenStorm II lives...
95 - RXL -- Sale Pending --
05 - Edge 800 long track - Stayin' stock for now..

They give the people a voucher + send them to a gun store to get checked out. I see nothing wrong with it And look at all the free publicity this guy just got.

Yep
Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers. Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other soldier. Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some. Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow. Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country. Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor. Rangers Lead The Way!.."All the way!" <<<<<1st Bat, 75th>>>>>

That reporter is a complete idiot. Why are people so afraid of AKs? They won't kill you any deader than any other gun! And it is not an 'assault weapon' unless you are physically assaulting someone with it!

His answers wernt the greatest.
Now what hes is doing is obviously a legal business practice, or that would be an issue. What is in question is if its an ethical business practice.
Telling a skeptical person the AK's are for person protection wont fly. You come across as paranoid and a little off your rocker to say the least.
Once it was determined giving away AK's would sell cars....and they figured out the most responsible way to give them away, the next thing they should have done was get their story straight on why this isn't unethical.
There is no practical reason to have an AK as a civilian. The only way to go about it is straight out say people use these for recreation which is perfectly safe when in the right hand.....which they ensure.
The reporter was just asking the questions any skeptic would ask.

I don't totally agree. An AK could be used for personal defense. True, it's not very practical and there are better choices, but the sight of one can be quite menacing. There are more practical uses for them like hunting or plinking. Also, a good AK is going to cost you a few bills more than $500.

I don't want to get into that......all im saying is this guy should have known he was going to be given a hard time,he could have done a better job preparing for it.

This is true but, how many times is an average person get put into the position to shoot someone in self defense.

There is no practical reason for most people to own a snowmobile either. This is America, it is what separates us from other nations. This is our right and freedom. Who gives a **** what is practical? **** that.
An AK is no more dangerous than any other gun. I personally think it is a far more practical run of the mill 9mm or .45 handgun.
