Hey, Just got back today from Norway. Wow what a beautiful country. Got lots of pics but I won't bore you all with all 340 of them. Here is a pic of me standing on the ledge at Preikestolen, an over hanging cliff that is 604m (1981ft) over Lysefyord and a cheesy vid to with it. And the second pic is of me standing on the Kjeragbolton at Kjerag. A boulder that is wedged between a crack in the mountain which aslo hangs over the Lysefjord, and has a waterfall just in front of it. Oh yeah, that boulder is a 1000m (1km) drop to the fjord below. IT WAS AWESOME. Sorry for the crappy pics. The weather was horrible and you could bearly see through the clouds at Kjerag. That makes a great combination for standing on a wet boulder, but I didn`t travel that far not to do it. Enjoy.
Cheers
Ryan

THE_Norwegian, It was actually my first time in Norway. I came from Karlskoga Sweden. Drove to Oslo on the E18, stayed a day, then from there the E134 thru the mountains to Jorpeland. Went to Preikestolen then over to Stavanger then down to the 45 to Lysebotn (Kjerag) and then back towards the E134 to home. Saw the Stave church near Notodden, you know, just site seeing.

Now in America they would have fences and crap up so you couldn't get that close to the edge. It's awesome to see that some countries still rely on people having a miniscule amount of common sense left. The first picture is awesome, a little photoshop work for the water spots and the other guy standing there and it would be picture perfect.

ACG,
thought about photo shopping it but I have never done anything like that so I am not sure how. Would love to learn. In fact I mentioned that to the girlfriend yesterday. I have quite a few great pics from my travels that I would love to fix the imperfections, then frame.
If they fenced it off, it would totally ruin the experience for me. At home it is the same thing in most places. So worried about the safety of the public. Not here. I mentioned the 3.8 km hike to the top. Its not paved, you have to climb up the mountain, up running waterfalls, near thin ledges and no safety ropes or nets. Its great. Actually the trip up to Kjerag, there was a sign that said children are not recommended on the hike. Pretty cool.

I can do that kind of stuff, but it sends chills down my spine when I see someone else do things like that .
It is just a great pictue from a subject manner, compositional and tonal standpoint. That being said I think it would be a great canidate for some photo manipulation, as someone mentioned above, to be transformed to print worthy of enlarging and being framed for the wall!

I think that later this week I am going to try my hand at photoshopping the pic. Not sure the process so it maybe lots of trial and error. Example, how do I remove the water drops?
You should have been standing on the rock at Kjerag. That was a rush. Couldnt't see the bottom, to far and to cloudy, not to mention the spray from the water fall. It looked like you were going to fall forever and disappear.

I'll see what I can do with that one. I have a program that is quite a bit better them photoshop, but it takes a lot of time. I've done a couple of restorations and they have turned out really nice. I'm off this week and almost done with most of my projects,soooo...
The only problem is the file is probably going to be too large to send via e-mail, but I can play..

Yeah that would be great. I was just thinking of cutting the pic off just left of the other person and maybe remove the water spots.
Perhaps if you get it finished you could post it on here then I can just copy and save it to my computer. That should work.
Thanks for the help
Cheers

Couple of questions circled in red:
Upper right - there's a dark spot in the sky. Would you like that removed?
Upper right again - The stone has a yellow tint to it. Should it be like that or dark like the rest?
It's coming along quite nicely.
But I'm not going to show you yet. Just have to wait.

XLT96rider,Thanks for doing this work for me, can't wait to see the final product. I have about 10 other pics that need work too.
That dark spot can go, its a rain drop and the rock should all look the same, dark like the rest, no yellow.
THE_Norwegian, Norway is a beautiful country, lots of gorgous scenery, and terrain and I love driving the roads. Wish I had my VTR when I was there. I highly recommend it to everyone to check it out. Much more to see then here in Sweden.
Thanks,
Ryan
