Well, I found a new sled on Craigslist. I picked it up today. I used to have a 95 Indy 440 L/C that had the same body style and loved the way it was on the trails. This will be a great sled for the wife. I talked the guy down to $500.00 as well. It's a 98 Indy 500 it has no rips in seat, hood is not damage but for a few tiny scratches and is wired for a heated visor on a helmet which he gave me the helmet and visor. The sled has 5,000 miles on it he had it gone threw by a technician last winter i cannot find anything wrong so far with it after i checked it over. The track has no rips and has 96 studs with the stud guard for the tunnel.

Heck, for $500 can't beat that, plus those L/C 500's are bullet proof.

Yea same, but aleast i don't have too worry about the stugs going threw them! Just rocks or what ever might clip the bottom of the running boards. I saw on sledswap the same sled go for 1800.00 I feel so lucky.

I got paint and cleaner to do the engine and exhaust i'll get photo's up later of it all
clean under the hood.

That's a good deal man. I've been in the same boat as far as sleds. About 5 months ago, I got a 96 XCR 440 SP w/o paperwork for $300, then i bought a 96 indy 500 evolved for 500, recently rebuilt with 6k miles, sold the engine out of the 440 for $350.00, then i traded the 500, and my supercharger(Wanted $600.00) for it for my indy storm with PSI pipes, and v-force 3 reeds. Nice sled though man, good deal on your part for sure. One thing i like about the evolved is it's a couple 'push rivets' to take the side panels off to get to the clutches, or chaincase, that is AMAZING!

That is one thing I like about the evolved compared to wedge it is easier to get to the clutches also That 500 in my mind was one of the best engines ever made because that Fuji is bulletproof and can almost never be stopped

Just look in new york state or Pennsylvania on craislist theirs lots of good deals.

-Yea i agree my 95 idny 440L/C that i used to have i had both clutchs worked and geared i could hold it to the bars for ever and top out around ~85mph and motor would hold strong. I also love how the panleing was
so easy to work on could pull both side's off made it a breeze to clean aswell.

Yeah for sure man. That's part of the reason I wanted to toss a storm engine in it was for 'ease of access' the only thing I dont like about the evolved is they're as heavy as the aggressive storms close to 600 lbs

I think they are around the same weight as a wedge Actually when the evolved was designed it was actually supposed to be the lightest sled that polaris during 94-98 I do not notice any weight differance between the evolved and the wedge.

I agree when i went to pick it up from the guy i could easily lift the back end with one hand. on my 01 edge x i cannot man it is so heavy compared to the evolved sled.

I had one just like that, factory dry weight was 478 lbs.
Loved the sled, put over 6000 miles on it. Sold sled for $1250.
