Hey guys,

I have had this sled just sitting in the yard way too long. I broke bolt that held the secondary onto the jackshaft last year. I am just now finally tearing it apart to get the bolt taken out. Is there an easier way than the repair manual I have says? The book tells me to pull th whole chaincase off and pull it out that way. The only problem with this is that the driveshaft bearing went it like a b$%& and I ended up pressing it in and it now will not budge. Can I just remove some of the bolts that hold the chaincase to the chassis out and pry on the chaincase to get the caliper and rotor out or do I have to bust my ass and try and get everything free'd up to do it?

Thanks,
Ryan

I'd do it right, and take it all apart. this will give you a chance to figure out why it went together so hard as well. Good luck.

Chain cases don't bend! If you pry on it, it will break. Make sure you have the track loosened off as well (I'm sure the manual said to do so). As stated before, do it right, take your time and follow the manual. There are few corners that can be cut to save time. If you go the "extra mile" you will know that you machine will be trail worthy and get you home. Keep posting if you run into trouble. There is a ton of knowledge on this site, and all free of charge.

Now, on my indy 500 when i removed the chain case, i had to unscrew all the bolts holding it on(of course), and there were two little circlips i had to take off one on top, and one of the jack shaft, after that it came off fairly easily. Did you make sure you got the speedo sensor on the PTO side? Should be 3 bolts.
