Has anyone used 7/8" MX or ATV bars on their sleds to get a little bit more of rise out of their sleds? I was looking on Ebay and saw some bars on there for alot cheaper than a new riser. Just wondering what your guys opinion is. Thanks.

It would work but I never tried it I am deciding on pro tapers instead of buying RSI's
1998 Polaris Indy 500 chassis with 98 Xc 600 motor
SLP ceramic coated pipe with SLP can
V-force reeds
4 inch pivot riser
Gutted Air Box
EPI clutch kit soon to be installed
Maybe some pro tapers
1998 XC 700 water-cross sled
SLP twin pipes
Some light weight parts
Water-cross mods include taking the parts u do not need
This includes removing the seat replacing gas tank and IFS bars.

My dad is thinking about doing that, we go to a repair shop all the time to get parts for our stuff and the guy we go to has boxes of tag atv bars. The bars a like 4 or 5 inches tall so it would be like getting a 4 inch riser. the bars that hes selling are $15 so its definantly cheaper.
Current Toys:
1998 Polaris Ultra 680 - 2 inch bar riser, Powermadd handguards
1989 Polaris Classic 500 - Comet Clutch
1989 Polaris Indy 500 - Parting Out
2008 Honda 50 - Pro Taper bars
Past Toys:
2003 Polaris Edge xc 340 - Cobra Windsheild
1998 Yamaha srx 700 triple - sold
1996 Yamaha V-Max - smashed, fixed, blew up, junked

I have the renthal fatbar, which is 1 1/8" an a 2" rise on my sled with some rsi 5" risers and its the best setup ive ever had. Renthals are the most responsive, most comfortable, and most durable bars ive ever owned.

How are Renthal bars more responsive than other brands? Isn't response determined by the rider not the bars?
I need big jugs on my sled, cuz my girl doesn't.

The reason theyre more responsive, is number one its my preference it may not be the same for everyone, but the fat bar feels stiffer and has a better sweep in my opinion and that means it responds better to me as a rider. But, once again, its my preference and opinion, you have to see if they work for you to see how well they perform.

The steering column is the weakest part of the steering system. It doesn't matter how stiff the bars are, the column will break first. Better sweep??? As in the angles of the bars or how they turn? So it's not really the fat bar, but the shape of the bar that makes them more comfortable which makes you more resonsive. But if you like them, great. I still don't understand your reasoning.
