This year, during an outboard motor rebuild, I started thinking how to organize all the various nuts, bolt and other stuff that is removed for the rebuild. Since I fish quite a bit, I happen to have an extra Plano tackle tray laying around. It's great for keeping all the bolts etc separate from each other and keeping all the like ones together. Now I'm putting on a track on the sled and use it for that.

Since the dividers are removable, you can vary the size of the compartments to hold all different sizes. Works great. Not worry about loosing the little stuff.

Just thought I'd pass it on. For like $3 from Wally, you can stop worrying about loosing stuff again or not know where that one stray bolt goes.

yeah that is a good idea. I like to take out the old cellular device and take some pictures too. I usually just use some small boxes according to what part of something im taking apart

Pictures are always good because it always seems like i forget something and its nice to go back and look at the pics. I use plastic containers and sometimes label them depending on how many things i have to take apart.

When we put in a new motor in my sled but got a pack of ziplock bags that were on sale and threw all the nuts and bolts in them and then used a sharpie to label them. That works awesome as well

I do that for some larger projects where I know it will be awhile before reassembly. Always nice to know where everything came from.

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!

I have all kinds of containers that I use when working on projects. It really depends on how long the project is.
