No sled should ever be at 10k rpms. No 2 stroke, at least. Your max rpms should be in the 8200-8500 range. If you're pullin those kind of revs, you need to rebuild your clutch.

Please dont run that sled at 10K,that is a sure way to eat the crank. 8300 +-is closer to where is should be.

Sounds like you're running it in warm weather and its running good (8000rpm and no bog). when it gets colder it will naturally run a leaner. Try jetting it up a little bit when it gets cold out and go from there.

you can run it on a quailty stand wide open. when a sled is on a stand at wide open throttle you should see 7800-8000 rpm max until the clutches shift out, then you will see the speedo and rpms jump. rpms should run a couple hundred low on the stand compared to the snow. on the snow you only want to be at 8000-8300 rpms max. any lower than 8000 and you are not getting to your peak power, any more than 8300 and you are wasting a lot of hp by not working the motor.

Don't you risk blowing the track though? Maybe i'm just kind of paranoid about it because i've heard of it happen to one or two people(not personally, but i have heard of it)
