1991 phazer need help - trying to replace track on my phazer started by tschernecker

I have a 1991 phazer great machine just need a new track. i have removed everything but main cross shaft in front for track. i removedthe bolt and sprocket on the right side and the speedo cable on the left, but cant slide the shaft in either direction am I missing something.

You have to remove the chaincase I believe to get the shaft out. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong because its been a while since I've done a track in a phazer.

You do not have to remove the chaincase. The track needs to be moved away from the sprockets to allow the shaft to move sideways.

The bearing on the speedo side might be frozen to the shaft

are there any collars with set screws on the driveshaft? also, look at the drivers themselves. some earlier yamahas had set screws on the drivers.
