I have recently been offered a really good job in Anchorage, and am considering relocating. Of course I will need some advice, and no one knows better than a local. I would like to know what areas of town I should consider living in ( or more importantly where to avoid ). I have a 13 yr old son, so school systems are important. I plan to rent first, then buy. Of course the great opportunity for snowmobiling is a major factor for me. I have a MXZ Formula, would it be worth bring this sled, or would I need more of a mountain sled ? What type salary would be required to meet cost of living. My wife is an experienced short order cook, are there many jobs available for her ? I have a million questions, I know someone from the snowmobiling community in anchorage could offer some good advice, whatever you think is important ! I have always lived in remote rural areas, and am used to 4 seasons. I know it doesn't get as cold here, but once your below zero it's cold periods. also are there any snowmobiling clubs in Anchorage ? I am looking forward to hearing from you guys, booth the bitter and the sweet.
Sincerely
Bob M.

Bob,

Montville would never be the same without you. People could finally go faster than 25mph with worrying about running an old timer over somewhere around then bend. HAHA! Best of luck to you. If it's financially affordable take a family vacation up there and check it out. Then the family as a whole can make a decision based upon factors they see fit and it might be less stressful of a transition for the wife and boy.
